Good Morning Botts!

Are there any dog people here? Im a cat person with a brand new puppy. My husband unexpectedly had to go out of town for a few weeks and Im struggling taking care of her on my own. I cant start training yet. We got her very young (only 6 weeks) and she cant start training until she finishes her first round of shots. The vet did give her the distemper though. Im exhausted! lol At least she is having a blast in the yard and Im getting extra exercise playing with her. She likes to run up and down our long drive way and we play "Tag" in the yard :)

Eats for today:

Coffee w/ cream
1/2 bagle w/ cream cheese ... yeah, not my best decision today
Quest Apple bar
Roasted chicken and sauteed spaghetti squash w/ mushrooms, onions and spinach (my recipe if anyone is interested)
Slice Arnold double protein bread w/ Skippy Natural
Last of my chicken and 'loaded cauliflower' (steamed cauliflower w/ sour cream, cheese and chives)

Bootcamp tonight

I am a dog person.  I have had 3 great dogs in my life.  One for 10 years, one for 14 years and my current dog is 6 years old.  Crate training is essential for peace.  I used it to keep her safe and house training.  Eventually she didn't need it and we stored it away.  First of all puppies like their crate.  Make it comfortable and they will sleep in it.  (blanket, comfy dog mattress etc.).  Puppies poo and pee when they get up, after they eat and after they play.  If they sleep in their crate they don't ever go to the bathroom in it (unless the crate is too big).  Never make them stay in the crate for more than a few hours as a puppy and go shopping or working.  I had to take my puppy to doggie daycare cause I was gone for 9 or 10 hours.  As soon as they get up they need to go outside immediately and not come back in until they did their duty.  Same with after they eat and play.  They want to be good and love tons of praise "gooooood puppy"  when they do something right.  You never have to spank a dog.  Just let them know it is naughty "baaaaad puppy".  They want to please us.  If you don't want them on furniture never let them and they will get used to it.  they remember the last thing they did before praise or verbal punishment.  If they run off and you call them and they do not come right away and they start coming toward you, remember to praise.  She will come faster and more eagerly when she knows she is doing a good thing.  My neighbor used to yell for her dog and when he finally started coming she would grab his collar and then wack him.  He never came when he was called.  If a dog doesn't do something right (like stay) just put him back where he was supposed to stay and praise him when he does it even a little right.  I used food as a reward treat.  Eventually you end up with a great companion.  Teething is always hard.  My dog had a tiny snout that grew about 6 inches in a year.  All her baby teeth came in and fell out and new adult teeth came in.  She loved dental chew rawhide rolls from Sam's.  She also ate a handle on a recliner (baaaaad dog!!!) but when I think of how her mouth must have felt I tried to understand.  Other than that she was pretty good.  She never had an "accident" in the house because she always went outside after sleep, play and eating.   Congratulations on your new puppy!

THANKS!! I am trying very hard with the crate training. I try to take her out every hour and a half or so. When I see her falling asleep, I put her in her bed. She likes it. While I am home, she is either outside playing with me, playing inside, laying on/next to me or in her bed.

The teething is difficult. Trying to keep her from chewing on my fingers. I immediately give her a toy instead. I got her a puppy Kong as well hoping to keep her mind busy as well.

She is really good. She only cries for a few minutes. Right now she has started this thing where she will only eat if I am right there with her. I have to go upstairs and let her cry, then she will eat.

My mom and sister live next door, so they have puppy duty during the day.

I guess I worry about reinforcing an incorrect behavior that I'll be sorry for when she is 40-50 lbs!

Good day everyone. Checking once a week... It is Monday.  It is beautiful weather here today. Nice and warm, sunny.

Since this is week 4th of my iron infusion - I am still taking it easy.  Solid foods still hurt - so I am on mostly liquid - slider food. I rather be little bit hungry than in pain,  Tomorrow is the last iron infusion and after that - one week on easy diet and I will slowly work on getting more "solid-dense foods".

Today eats (and most of this week)
coffee + coconut milk
proteins shake
egg drop soup (homemade)
yogurt with proteins and flax
protein shake on almond milk
proteins cookies (a few - eating slowly) or cheese sticks (if I need somehing more "solid")
egg drop soup
LNS: cheese or protein pudding, nuts as needed

follow up on me:
I am doing fine. I am still on a very low carb diet and it is working beautifully for me. Lost 2-3 lbs but most important is my BS issue.
For the last 2 month - no low BS - none. I can get hungry but I don't have to eat right away. I can go hours and hrs without food. I guess things are working well for me. Maybe the low carbs - no fruit - no processed food (except natural protein powder) no alcohol , etc. in the answer to my RH?
No more low BS in the morning.  I finally feel like a "semi-normal" person. I don't have to eat unless I want to. No more panics and crashing when I can't eat something.  I do love that.
