Good afternoon to everyone in the group.. Here is a little about myself...

I am 35yrs old. Had RNY  4/2007. I am 4'11. I got down to 118-121 lbs roughly in 2009. In March 2009 i had a complete hysterectomy and since then have put on 25 pounds. I am struggling to get it off. All of my lab work in normal. I talked to a surgeon in Florida where i now live and was told that it is normal for us patients that have had a total hysterectomy to gain about 25-30 lbs back but to me that doesn't seem right.  I am trying to get this off and i have ordered a lot of Bariwise drink which are so good. They have 70 calories, 2 carbs and 14 gm of protein in each 6-8 oz of water that you mix them in.. So my question that i need help is how many grams of protein should i be trying to get in per day and how many carbs should I try to stay under? I was told not to concentrate on calories to much. I hate that i have put this weight back on. I feel like i did before my bypass in 2007. I know that i don't weight what i did before but going up from a size 4/6 in 2009 to a 12 today is so hurtful and mentally draining to me. It makes me

Currently this is what i have been trying to do for the last week but i am still trying to adjust it a little.

calories------- stay under 1100
Protein-------- try to get in between 120-150 gm per day
carbs---------  stay under 35 per day

If anyone can pls help me out and let me know if i should adjust my number more i would love it. Should i lower the cards or raise the protein more to loose weight?

Thank you for any help and support........

Welcome to the group.  I lost 70 lbs. in eight months to get back on track.  What worked for me is the following:  No drinking during or 30 minutes after a meal.  My calorie intake was around 1000 calories per day.  Protein was 80-100 grams a day and carbs was under 100 net grams.  I drank plenty of fluids, take all my vitamins and walked for at least 30-60 minutes a day, every day.  I think your protein is a little on the high side and you do not want to damage your kidneys.  I know others that eat that much protein so this is just a worry of mine.  I journaled my food everyday so that I would have to take responsibility for everything that went into my mouth.  I gave up all white products:  Sugar, (sweets), breads, pasta, & potatoes.  My one and only vice is that I drink diet soda everyday but that is my cross to bear.  I wish you the best of luck on getting back on track.

Most of my carbs are green vegetables, fruit and oatmeal.  No junk carbs.

Did your surgeon say why it was "normal" to gain weight post-hysterectomy? If I were you, I'd like to understand the relation between the two things. That might help you fine-tune your efforts, right?

Good luck!
