Back On Track Together
New to the group/Intro
I had RNY in July 2009. Everything was great until the scale stopped moving. I found out that I was pregnant. I was so disappointed because I was only 6 months out. I gained between 10-15lbs and gave birth to a boy in Sept 2010. He was smaller (7.3 oz) than my other 2 (8.2 oz and 8.15oz) but still healthy. Since his birth, I have loss and gained the same 7lbs over and over. Last month, I decided that I was sick of playing with the scale. I joined Curves with my bff and lost 9lbs and 2% body fat in a month. I started taking my vitamins regularly and learned to like my protein shakes again. I also increased my water intake. I need help on what my diet should consist of. How many calories, carbs, sugar, fat, protein, etc should I eat every day? If anyone could give me a sample of their daily menu that would be great. I do know the scale is not going to move as quickly as it did in the beginning, but i just want to see it move.
Thx for the help

Welcome! I also had two babies post RNY, although not right after surgery. I had surgery in 2006 and my son in 2008 and daughter in 2010. I am working on losing the "baby weight" but it's really the pounds I gained from not eating the right foods, too much food, and not enough exercise or none at all. I have 30 pounds to go from the 60 I needed to lose. I can only tell you what I'm trying to do, not that it's what is recommended or right for you (a lot learned from other BOTTS here, who are VERY supportive):
800-1,100 calories
3 small meals, 2-3 snacks (keeps RH at bay)
eat in 15 minutes or less, but take small bites and chew thoroughly -- no grazing
no sugar, refined carbs
protein first, then non-starchy veggies (I'll add fruit when I hit goal)
90-100g grams protein minimum
less than 50g carbs
stop drinking 5 minutes before, no drinking during, wait 30 minutes after meal
aim for 128oz fluids, 64oz minimum (I usually hit 112 oz) -- calorie free, no caffeine
minimum 30 minutes exercise 5 x week (I haven't done this yet)
lift weights 3 x week (this either)
vitamins every day

I haven't posted in a while, but I wanted to thanks Tigs for laying out her diet plan. I have followed it pretty close and have lost 9lbs since June 24th. I really increased my water and protein intake and cut out a lot of sugar. I had to let my beloved greek yogurt go. I feel great and have more energy and feel like I can finally week my goal.
I want to say welcome to our group. Tigs gave you excellent information of what you need to do to see some results. I pretty much follow the same routine except I have been exercising. From May 2011 to February 2012, I lost 70 lbs. following this course laid out by Tigs. I have since maintained my lost and have had a tummy tuck in May. You can do this if your mind is really for it. Good Luck.
