TESS!! Glad you're back! I know you cant wait till Weds!
Im still working on eating perfect haha! Im still maintaining which is good, so Im guess Im not doing too bad.
Had a crazy pouch weekend. 2 RH episodes, one dumping episode and my very first PB episode. Havent had that since my band days. My pouch didnt like that english muffin. Had a sip of Trop 50 oj (great combination to set off a little RH) and everything just came back up. My pouch has been trying to teach me a lession. Been filling up quicker than ususal, but thats ok with me.
Oh, also finally made it to the doc to discuss my Zoloft issues. Hes an actual psych. He said the dosage my PCP gave me was just the starter dose so he doubled it and I go back in 3 weeks. Hope it helps.
Eats for today:
XL coffee w/ cream
Pure Protein Bar
pork chop and salad
Apple and cheese stick
Not sure whats for dinner. Looks like either grilled chicken wings or hotdogs by looks of the fridge.
Bootcamp tonight.

Also they say you can use chopped cabbage or broccoli

Hi BOTT's!
Hala, let us know about the RH endo appt. I just got back my bloodwork from my hematologist and met with him. He only ran the stuff he looks for, plus b-12, folate and tsh. My iron is higher than it has ever been. It is 109 on a reference range of 40-135!!! Never been that since I had my surgery. Ferritin is still low (i think) at 25.9 on a reference range of 11-306. B-12 is 690. Folate is 24.
He says I am on too much thyroid med, he thinks. I was looking at the vitamin panel from the meeting in december with the bariatrics and my creatinine was low, at 0.5. My Vit K was so low it was below the reference range. My vitamin A was 33. Vit D was 67...I am going to get my vitamin ranges checked again at the beginning of July...any of these numbers jump out as to why I feel awful, weak, tired, lethargic?
The iron is ONLY up because of the Vitalady carbonyl, no other HAS EVER brought me up...

I am glad your iron is getting up. But it may be a while until you feel the full effect in energy. But it will come.
I like my B12 to be higher than 800.. Below 800 I do feel it is too low for me. I just like it to be close to 1000. If you have a copy of the report - you can email me or PM me and I can give you fax # .... would like to see the CBC - blood work... - RBC, WBC, MCV - may tell you how much more B12 you need. If your MCV is close to 100... then you may need more B12.. but if your MCV is below 90... you doing OK for now...
OK: the OH just "ate" the rest of my answer to you
Thyroid - IMO _ TSH means nothing..... TSH can be nice, T4 and free T4 good - but the most active hormone - Free T3 - can be too low. (I get that ) . If you are on hormones - you may be getting not enough of the right hormones. If you getting synhtroid - that's T4... and if your body does not convert that into T3 - well.. you will feel like crap.
Or your body may be low in T3... just because (like mine)
Vit D - looks OK. It may try to get it higher - to 80-100... but at 67 - you are doing great.
Vit A - you may look into that - I would get 10K dry A once a twice a week. You do not want that too much - but
Vit K- not good too low. Major issue - beside bruising - is bone loss or not good bone formation. You do need serious Vit K1 and K2. (make sure it has both) Really important for good bone health.
Protein level - when mine drops below 7... I do feel tired. And you need the proteins to build new blood, ferritin (iron protein bonded) and so on.
Beside that - how is your cholesterol - what a lot of people do not know is that too low cholesterol is not good - you want your cholesterol to be > 150... with good HDL...(>50)
With RH - sugar lows - I may (and so do you if you get RH) be dealing with adrenal issue...
when I get low blood sugar - the adrenal dumps a lot of adrenaline into the blood... that may cause 2 things:
1. adrenal exhaustion - when they get overworked and they just get so tired of constantly have to dump huge amount of adrenaline and cortisol into the blood due to RH... then they just start running on empty - and in normal situation - they can't make enough normal hormones for day - to day activity - low adrenal hormone=very tired...(Ii get that at the end of days that I get RH - so tired I can't function.. or think....)
2. with often high level of adrenalin and cortisol in blood stream due to RH - the body may become resistant to it and normal levels are no longer "enough" to fell normal...
