Nice weather today.  I slept very well and had no problem getting up. Today is my doc - 4 year post op visit. I will get detailed lab result sand I hope all is OK ... The appointment is with not my doc but with the other doc in that practice, with whom I had some unpleasant visits before. But it has been 2 + years since then and we are adults and I think we could communicate.

Eats today will be easy
coffee + almond milk
protein shake
protein shake
lunch: salad with some proteins...
pork roast and veggies
meatloaf and veggies

exercise : walking or I may try to go to yoga...

Update: My 4 year doc visit went well.. Most my numbers are OK .  Some are bit too high (B6) some got lower than I like it.  (proteins, ferritin).

I may need to consider another iron infusions.  And there I was hoping that my iron will last me 2-3 years at least, but with ferritin at 30... I can't risk waiting more than 2-3 months.

Hala,

Thank you for the pork loin recipe, I am a member of Sam's so next trip I am picking some up. It does have a GREAT flavor. Been years since I have had it. I remember eating it earlier post op and got that great full feeling.

I am sorry about the one in the practice you don't like too much. I just ordered my blood work from Dec. 2011, 4 months after I had my baby but while still breastfeeding and not having a period. My ferritin had gotten "up" to 32. But here I am sicker than ever with the anemia and go for a CBC tomorrow and hematologist Monday.

What gets me is this: my blood work from December, from my surgeon's group whom I hadn't been to since 6 months post op(I moved to FL) acted like I was doing great. Reading the numbers before me, my protein is low and my Vitamin K was too low to even be in the range. My B-12 was 699. Ferritin 32, this is GREAT to them?

I am getting copies of the CBC from tomorrow, I am learning to be proactive about this because even my Center of Excellence has not updated their information since my surgery in Jan 2007 and acted like my regain was because I was eating over 2000 calories a day. They said RNY still malabsorbs calories at 5 years out?! Ughh!!

I hear you... My ferritin was 18 then 11 and they told me "great numbers"... B12 was 550, low proteins.(6.4).and so on.. Only when I got hold of my results and had help to look at them I realized that my labs suck and that overall they did not do at least 1/2 of the ones I needed.

Now I insist of getting all.  BTW: in last 3 years my T3 (the active part of thyroid hormone) is low - below normal - even when my TSH and Free T4 are great.  But that's one reason I do request the tests...

Finally my B12 is 1000 (and he told me it is too much) but my MCV at 102 indicated b12 issues.... so yea I got it but my "blood" is not getting it... I think a trip to hematologist is in order...

Now - I know more that some of my docs.

We do need to know our own numbers.  BTW: I guess the doc and I "made-up". He was very pleasant... and so was I. If nothning else - I am walking sucess story for them... and I may need him if I get issues.

Saw the NUT today, she told me to do something different today than she told me last month. She is clueless....I'm done with her. Anyway, my labs showed my B vites were way up. She said I was ok. I'm not sure she knows what she is talking about........  feel like I know more than her. i was teaching her things today.

I will definitely let you guys know my results. Glad you and doc made up, you are great advertisement for them. MCV being low. Will be on the lookout for that. Food for today was good with a caveat.

B - 30 gram shake
L - meatloaf and small salad (thanks hala!)
Snack - 260 cals of pistachio
Dinner - some cheese and grilled chicken over salad with beans and green beans.

Caveat - Husband...notice the social eating always involves him. Seeing a common pattern. He just came home with a giant bag of the individual bags of chips, chips ahoy cookies and pizza rolls. Yes I said right. I am about to kill him!
