Would love advice on eating out in the world...
I had a great week last week, getting down to 188 lbs but had a bad week this week and ate all the way up to 194 :( When I say bad week, I was just spending time with family and eating what they ate.
I ate out with my husband, ate things people around me ate. I did not exercise. I guess my questions for everyone would be, how do you not succomb to all the social eating? I find myself getting so lost in the moment, enjoying the company and eating what they eat. That resulted in a 6 lb weight gain!
My mother thinks I need the CONSISTENT exercise to help me maintain on these off days. But please give me suggestions on what you do when you go to people's homes or out to eat.
Also any suggestions for any new, yummy protein powder out there? I am wanting something new!
Thanks!

I admitted I have down days like today I didn't feel like cooking but I did make sure I got my protein. When I go to visit family I personally do my own food shopping and I tend to cook most of the meals which gets everyone to eat like me...I have a culinary arts degree so I can style food and dress it up to make it look and taste great. When I go out with friends I always has someone to share my plate...and more than once they fight over who will share what I am having. And if I don't I request right away for a take out container. I choice lean meats or seafood, ask to hold the butter or have the sauce on the side most times I just have something thats been grilled and sub out the rice/pasta or potato for more veggies. I pass the bread down so it's not in my face and I don't drink and eat at the same time and if I want dessert I share because most are too sweet and I am not a fan of dumpping...so I have no more than a forkfull.
Good luck you will find something to work for you.
Hi.. I know it may be tough. This is what I do:
1. have my own food... if they have cake I have my own cookies (protein cookies , or nut cookies )
In the past - I had a protein bar - but not going to do that - I gave up on processed food like that - don't trust the companies s- my body is way to sensitive to carbs.
2. I always have proteins and veggies, and when I need to - I snack on nuts.
3. not drinking alcohol - when I do that - I am sure I will overeat.
4. When out with my BF - he may order some sweet potato fries and I will have a few... (4-6)
No drinking while eating. And dense proteins is a must for me. I do need to eat every 2-3 hrs and if I do not I may tend to overeat or eat the wrong food when I wait for others to be ready.
If it is 2 hrs from when I ate - and I am hungry I will eat. If I wait (typical family dynamics - "wait , we will have lunch soon..." I may e in trouble. I know that I need to eat - so I do, and when the "family is ready to eat... I will eat with them - but I will not be hungry so I know I will make good choices.
Last but not least - the people who try to convince you that a bite of something will not hurt you.... A bite may start a avalanche of cravings and bad choices for the day - so I do resist. If they try to pu**** - I look at them and ask them how badly they want me to be sick? Usually that works..... My BF is completely on my side - and he is my supporter in "no pushing Hala to eat things she can't". You can blame RH - that may become out of control if you have one bite, or food allergy or just tell them you do not like that food.....
