Trying to get BOT

I've been trying to get BOT but I can't seem to make it more than a few days. I do pretty well during the day, but in the evenings, I give in to sugar cravings. I really need this board to learn better habits.

I know everyone says to log in somewhere, but I am not even sure how to do that. I took a look at
myfitnesspal, but it seems so complicated. I've even seen people ask to be added to their friends list on there, and I have no idea what that's all about. If someone could clue me in on how to use that site, I'd appreciate it. I've never been really good about counting my calories, but I guess I better learn to be better about that. Also, I've never watched fat grams. I started ATkins way back in the 1960's so I learned bad habits from that book saying only carbs count.

Can someone help me learn  to eat right? The VSG really restricted my portions, so it's never been a problem until now. I could hardly eat for a long time. NOT ANYMORE!!

Thank you in advance!

Welcome!!

I cant help any with myfitnesspal. I use Spark People. I use them because Its a site I can get to from work and I can access it on my phone out side of work (no phones allowed). Its a huge site! I like that you earn trophies and sparkpoints. Im a nerd and I like stuff like that :)

Good luck to you!! You've got this!!

Well, for myself I created my own tracking by using a excel spreadsheet which I maintain monthly.  I set a goal amount of calc to intake daily and I track my protein intake.

I allow myself 1200 calc a day and a safety net of no more than 1300 daily.  I work out 5 to 6 times a week for 35 to 55 minutes...55 minutes relates to my weekend.  I change up my workout every week, this week it's Tae Bow PT24/7 next week it will be Zumba and the next week will be Wii Active Tennis.

My eatting plan is:  PreBreakfast with my meds, Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner and a Snack.  However, I fall off maybe once a week however last week I was off all week.  So, when I do go off my plan I just get back to basic the very next day...

I set a realistic weight lost goal for myself weekly and monthly no more than 2 pounds a week and 8 to 10 pounds a month.  I believe that if I take it off slowly I won't regain.  Since December 2011 I am down 25 pounds which I regain 5 pounds with my out of control eatting last week which now I have 25 pounds to loss in stead of just 20.

That's my problem- I suck at computers. I don't have excell and would have no clue how to use it.

I am good about working out, but not good about changing this around much. I use the weight machines at the gym, and the eliptical, and treadmill. I also walk outside a lot. I tried Zumba, and I loved it. It just hurt too much. I hurt my neck, my back and knees doing it. I am just too old. Zumba gold is just not enough cardio for me.

I've been doing good now for a few days, eating low carb, and tyring to do better about eating low fat too.

I hope some more people will chime in with some help on how to use these online tracking programs, and how they manage to stay on track.

My fitnesspal is pretty easy. I use it daily and it keeps accurate records for you. I have a smart phone and use it on there as well. If you have a smart phone, it can scan the upc code of any food and record it right on your daily record. Play around with it and see if you can figure it out.

Pre surgery 300 lbs, lowest after 175 lbs, re-gain highest 249 lbs, current 211 lbs, goal 170 lbs!
