HUGE weight gain

Coming back to OH after being gone for a few years!  Have totally lost myself over the past few years and have gained alot of weight.  I reached 170 and currently weigh in at 242 from a starting weight on surgery date 1/24/03 of 312. Many things have gone on over the past few years and I have been in MAJOR depression over the weight gain.  I openly admit, the bad thing is I never really worked this program and never learned all the tools I would hear and read about so I stayed in the dark most of the past 9 years (my anniversary is January 24th).  But good thing is I REFUSE to give up. I am at my bottom so I can't get any lower.  So the way I see it, I can only go up from here and get this weight off.  I have been lazy and none dedicated and had stopped trying.  I would start and stop, start and stop...over and over.  The past couple weeks, my image of myself has been HORRIBLE but today I decided to rededicate myself and DO THIS THING this time.  So, here I am back on OH for support, to give support, get suggestions, tips and information.  I just hope I am not to far out post op for this to work.   But all I will to is try and keep trying because I have a determination that I WILL defeat obesity!!!

Don't give up!  Your story is our story.  We can do this!

My surgiversary is Nov. 20, 2006. That is five years.  I started at 358 and lost down to 168.  I am currently at 260...

I will do what I need to, to get back on track.  Read the suggestions for getting back on track they are awesome!

Good luck to us all!

Trudy!

What is so great is that your pouch still works, you just have to get it started again.  I lost down originally to 155 and gain back to 225 (stress, work, etc), in the past eight months I have lost back down to 162, that is a 63 lb. lost.  I got back on this board and the main board and looked to see what the newbies were doing.  I pretended that I had a new pouch and I needed to eat like they did.  I started off with 700 calories a day, no white carbs, (flour, sugar, sweets, bread, etc) ate mostly protein rich meals, 70-90 grams of protein, with green vegetables and I started walking 30 minutes a day.  I now eat around 1000-1100 and walk 1 hour a day, everyday, and still keep my proteins around 80-90 grams a day.  Our RNY tool still works, we just never really got the instructions that they have now.  Come here and post everyday, I am faithful here and on my fitness pal app on my phone.  Journaling is a big key to our success.  I look forward to seeing you daily.

Thanks for spelling things out for us Tess.  So often our posts are filled with the negatives and positives but lack the details of the things that went wrong or the things that worked.  Your details can make a difference for someone else...what to try or do or what not to do.  They can also be a reminder of the things we've forgotten.

Thanks again for the inspiration Tess!
