Back On Track Together
Here to get back on track!
Hello everyone!
I am back here after just having my second son, Samuel. He was born 8/7/10. He is gorgeous and healthy and amazing. I am exhausted, emotional, and 25 lbs away from what I weighed before I got pregnant, which was 10 lbs higher than my lowest weight, which was still at least 40 lbs from my goal! So, as you can see, I have a way to go! I started out at 365 lbs, and I am currently 258.8. My ultimate goal is 180. Anyway, I am back on track, and my hubby has decided to get down in there with me. Doing this together is so much better. I am looking back on what I need to be doing and trying to really put it to work.
1. Protein first, then veggies, fruits. Staying away from all other carbs. No sugar.
2. Don't drink when eating (something I got away from while pregnant)
3. ONLY EAT WHEN HUNGRY - DUH!
4. Start moving more. (Plan on starting the couch to 5K program after I am fully recovered)
Is there anything I am missing? I am recording all my food on Livestrong.com (MyPlate). Anyone have any other tips for me?
Thanks!

well... since you asked...
one point never worked for me...
3. ONLY EAT WHEN HUNGRY - DUH!
If I wait to eat when I am hungry - then I have a tendency to overeat. Instead I eat at least every 2-3 hrs. That way - I am not very hungry - so I only eat what i am suppose to. Sometimes even less - because my "feeling full" meter is very sensitive.
But if i wait until I am hungry - not only do I have tendency to eat faster - but I would also eat more.
And if some interruption happens when i am suppose to eat (the phone rings, someone stops by) I know I am OK to wait 15-30 min for my meal.

That sounds good!! You don't want to overwhelm yourself. Once you get those things down pat, then make some new goals for yourself or add to these or tweak these. Make them more specific. I recommend doing this later, not now. Like number 4 is excellent. After 2 or 4 weeks then make more specific, like working out 3 days a week or doing 30 min 3 days a week, etc. You can do it!! Keep up the good work!!
Excellent goals.

Thanks so much for the encouragement! The eating is going very well, and all I've been able to get in for movement so far is a few walks with the family, but I am very proud of how I am doing. Hubby being in this with me is making it much easier too!!
I have lost 8 lbs since I've been BOT - however - I am still losing from the pregnancy, plus fluid, etc... but it's still really nice to see the scale move DOWN instead of UP!
Thanks again! I really appreciate the responses I have gotten here so far!
