Today and the rest of this week and month, I am going to really work on not eating for 3 to 4 hours.  I ate breakfast at 9, so nothing in mouth other than water until noon minimum and 1 the latest.

I have to stop the grazing.  So that will be my next project.  To stop grazing.  I know this is sabotaging me, so I have to get it under control ASAP.  I am not aiming for perfection but I need to manage this better.

What have you done to stop grazing if you have had this issue?  Any tips and suggestions welcomed.  Thanks again for your continued support.

Hi Molly,

You and I are exactly the same. We share the same struggle.

My tips:
OA Meetings & other tools such as telephone (call someone)
WLS Support groups
Journal (which I'm not very good at)
Meditation

 Hi Molly...
Grazing is the main reason I've regained 60 pounds in the past two years.  I can't eat much at one time, but I tend to snack all day, mostly while at work.  I wish I had the willpower not to buy the food in the first place, but I don't.  I used to think chocolate was my problem since I eat way too much, but I stopped eating it for 6 weeks and actually gained 2 pounds.  Menopause is part of my problem, but I know the grazing is the culprit.  I'm not even hungry, so I don't know why I do it.  It's nice to know I'm not alone, but I'm sorry I have no advice for you.  Maybe we can find the answer together!
Good luck,
Vickie

I get so confused from time to time myself, I hear we shoudl eat every 2-3 hours and yet grazing is my big issue.  I can eat a little something now, a little something an hour from now, and so on and before you know it, I have gotten way to many calories in.

What does everyone do that is back on track?  Eat just 3 meals per day, no snacks?  Eat 5-6 mini meals per day?

I really need to get my habits and eating under control.

I know ones who do both.  You have to find which one works for you.  My group definitely recommends 3 meals a day and no snacks.  But I know many who do fine wiht the 6 mini meals.

The best to you and KIT.

Grazing has ALWAYS been a HUGE problems for me!
I have lost 16 pounds in the last month just doing the following:

1. Eat Protien first and avoid "slidder or soft foods" AT ALL COST!
2. NEVER drink with a meal. It turns it into a "slurry" and you won't stay full feeling.
3. Water load and drink all day except for the first 90 minutes after you eat a meal. This was really hard for me, but I feel fuller longer and have so much more control when I get tempted by all the goodies that seem to sneak around my work place.

Hope this helps a little
Good luck and God bless!!

When you say no soft foods, does this include eggs and cheese or do you mean refined and processed carbs?

refined and processed carbs.

I started keeping track of everything I eat at Livestrong.com/myplate. I didn't realize, until it was right in front of my face, how much CRAP I was eating. I started  eating Protein and veggies first and find I don't have the room for carbs and the weight is FALLING OFF! I'm loving it!
