HELP!!
WHEN I FIRST HAD THE RNY GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY, I WAS VERY MOTIVATED AND DETERMINED AND HAD WILL-POWER TO REACH MY GOAL.. BUT SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY I LOST MY MOTIVATION, DETERMINATION AND WILL-POWER.. AND I STARTED EATING AND DRINKING THE WRONG THINGS THAT IM NOT SUPPOSED TO BE EATTING OR DRINKING.. IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME? IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN GET IT ALL BACK? IF SO, HOW CAN I DO JUST THAT? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME..
I've been in your shoes and have turned to OH members for help as well. I found a web site that has helped me GREATLY! I would like to send you the link. She has awsome tasting recipes easy to follow and eat plus she is a post RNY in 2006. It has taken me a few months to collect some of the items she uses but I've been buying 1-2 things every pay ck to help me. Most of the products you may have on hand. Following her recipes and following my life coaches advice I've managed to loose wt once again.

There is NOTHING wrong w/you just life is happening and you need to take the bull by the horns and make a decision for yourself. Is this TRULY the life you want or are you willing to work hard for a better one? I used to think that surgery was the answer to my wt loss problems but I didn't realize that it was also going to be hard work to KEEP it off. Easy to loose but hard to maintain. I have many other issues just like the rest of the American population however I am doing this for myself and no one else. To be honest? Once I found some QUICK & EASY recipes it's been fun!
Here's to your success,
Blessings,
Alicia

It is really hard to stay motivated. My thing that I do is put pictures of me at my lowest on my pantry and refrigerator and try to keep chocolate, ice cream, etc. (things I love) outta my house. It's hard because if we didn't love these things we wouldn't of got that way to begin with. I wish I had better advice. You can do it!
You and I are only a week apart in our surgeries. When I first started out I was the same way. I was so motivated and determined. Then at about 6 months, I started taking a bite of this and a bite of that...(mainly Doritos, pasta and potatoes) It didn't bother my pouch and I didn't eat a lot at once. But then my weight loss slowed down and I only lost 5 pounds in 2 months...then it stopped all together. I blamed it on a stall....well, I became so frustrated and I felt like a failure. Then I went to my monthly support group meeting and this very subject came up. I was told to track what I eat and drink as of now. And make a list of everything I was eating wrong and how much the calories and protein were. I was shocked to see that I was eating almost double the calories and about half of my required protein. It has been 4 weeks now since I started back at the beginning. I write down everything I'm going to eat for the day...I don't go over 1,200 calories a day, or under 80 grams of protein. I fill up on fruit, veges, and protein 3 times a day, and I eat 2 healthy protein snacks during the day. Sometimes a protein bar, maybe a shake, some almonds or some cottage cheese. I also get in my 64 oz of water. I drink other no calorie drinks as well, but I make sure that 64 oz is jus****er. I also walk 2 miles ever morning, 5 days a week.....and in less than a month, I have dropped 10 pounds. It will be a month on Thursday!
Just look at what you are eating and snacking on, and omit it from your diet if it's not healthy. I have found a new love for strawberries with a tablespoon of light whipped cream...yummo!!!

Nothing wrong with you. We all have had this problem. Life gets busy and we don't focus on ourselves as much as we should. I also have started tracking my food intake again. I also make sure I get my water in before I have anything else to drink. It isn't easy but it can be done. Making to to workout is also important. I had stopped going to the gym. At the start of the summer I set a goal to workout five days a week. Between writing everything down and going to the gym my weight loss has picked back up. Ask yourself what is the most important to you...eating or your health?
Good luck and we are all here for you.
