August Goals - Second week - please report.. - or join us...

How did you do last week and the weekend?

I did OK, not as good as I hoped, but not as bad as I could have done.

Remember – you are only accountable to yourself and not to me or any of us on the board.  The goals allow me to write down what I want to do and then be accountable to MYSELF to do that.  It allows me to find areas that I am not perfect – identify them – put them in writing (o – so painful)  and then work on them.  They are not my “problems" but my ongoing “projects".

And if I do not do as good as I wish on them – I can work on them the next week, and the week after.

Keep yourself accountable.  And remember - the care package to all one person (or 2 ??? ) who post...

I did OK, not as good as I hoped, but not as bad as I could have done.

My goals were as follow:

1.     Maintain my weight –

2.      Yoga and walking and other exercise – Yoga  - min 4 times a week, walk – min 1 mile per day average – can be done in one day a week – or 1 miles a day – but only brisk walking count (no mall, shopping, or like that counts – that is a bonus)

3.     Healthy eating –  no artificial sweeteners, no “junk food" a lot of vegetables and proteins, and some fruits.

How did do?

1.      My weight is up one1 lb – and 0.5 lb above my range -  but I have been eating a lot of fiber yesterday so I think I am full of… s*** we will know tomorrow.  Need to watch that.

2.     I went to Yoga 4 times last week but none on the weekend.  Not so good.
I walked on Friday and Saturday – TOTAL 7 miles.  So my goal – 1 mile a day on average… is OK.

3.     Healthy eating  - did OK most of the time – but – bought and ate NSA fudgesicles (my trigger food) and drank too much alcohol last week and weekend.

So this week changed my amended goals:  I will make it more specific – measurable.

So I can see what I can follow –and what area I still need to work on.

1.     Maintain my weight – and make sure I drop to within my weight goal -

2.      Yoga and walking and other exercise –

·         Yoga  - min 4 times a week,

·         Walk – min 1 mile per day average – can be done in one day a week – or 1 miles a day – but only brisk walking count (no mall, shopping, or like that counts – that is a bonus)

3.     Healthy eating –

a.      no artificial sweeteners,  - none

b.     no “junk food"  - including the fudgesickles.

c.     a lot of vegetables and proteins: based on my meals – proteins +

d.     some fruits – 2 serving of fruits a day

e.     No Alcohol.

f.      Limit coffee to 1 a day.

 4.     Vitamins and minerals: Make a schedule and make sure to take it every day.  ALL of them.

Well, I haven't gained anything and that is good. I have done well staying in my guidelines for calories and avoiding non-nutritional foods and I went swimming on Sunday and have walked almost every day.  I still need to get my shake weights out and see if I can do them and I have got to clean my house. It's awful and I go back to night school the 17th, which means homework starts this week... reading... joy.  Well, it would be joy if it were my choice of reading material, but it's finance... maybe I'll learn something other than that I need a more lucrative job.

Where is everyone?

My birthday is at the end of this month and a few months ago one of my mid-range goals was to lose 15 lbs by then.  I still have 10 left so I'm not sure that's going to work.  I'll hope for the best while I work on the following things this month. . .

1. only water if I wake in the middle of the night
2. Continue to write down everything I eat even on the bad days and even on the weekends!
3. One yoga per week
4. No less than 3 Cardio sessions per week, prefer 4, 5 -6 is rock star!
5. No less At least 2 strength sessions per week, 3 is rock star!
6. Protien only for breakfast
7. No more 10pm dinners!  (my significant other likes to eat late dinners - I've got to let him know that doesn't work for me)
8. This one just may be the most difficult - find 15 min a day to be by myself to meditate or read or do whatever I want.

Most of these goals are things I've been getting  better at, but I need to really make them habits!

Tonya,
great goals

BTW: when i was married - I needed the 15 min...
This one just may be the most difficult - find 15 min a day to be by myself to meditate or read or do whatever I want.

So - I use the bathroom. Got a small player in there - put my music on, and got a bath. And when I did not - I pretended to have a bath - or really bad BM... lol. My ex left me alone... (after a few "serious discussions").

When he didn't get the point "I am in the bathroom - leave me alone - I got on his nerves - when he was working out one day - asking him to do something for me every 5 min... jar, cat issue, etc... after the 5th time I called him home - he look at me and got it.

Tonya, those are great goals!  Night eating and not exercising enough are two problem areas for me.

Hala - The bathroom - what a great idea!!
That was the best story! I got a good laugh out of it Sometimes people (read: "men") need to be hit over the head, figuratively of course, before they understand.

Indy - I made it through last night too (it's always easier when I don't wake up!!)

I lost one pound this week and I exercised 5 times last week.  I think my weight training is slowing down my weight loss.

I am struggling with the grazing but I am really going to start focusing on it, because I know this is key for me and for my success.

I love it that you posted this, because I can always go back and see what I am suppose to be mindful of this month--in writing.
