OK i 'll go first sometimes revert to bad habits so here are my tips that i have made for myself, I would love to see everyone elses tips.............as we go through life after bypass. Lets learn from eachother! ;-)
1) Ihave been restricting my water with my meals.
2) I fill up on my protien first and that really gets me full (sometimes its easy to forget and eat soup, salad, bread at a restraunt)
3) I make myself exercise every day (even if it is just hand weights watching tv)

Here are some of my tips:
1. when you find yourself eating toomuch of weekends - get out of the house. Bring good protein snacks and water with you and so anything. I go trift shopping.
2. make sure you do not get too hungry. after 6 months - most people can eat nuts - and nuts are everywhere - gas stations, little food places. It is bette rto stop and get a small packet of nuts - than to get hungry and once you go home - overeat.
3. drink water - and if you can't drink plain - make sure you make it tasty enough to drink it. If you like it - you will drink it - find a good additive.
4. make sure your blood test are done as ofen as you need. Whne my iron was low - I did not exercise - I was to tired. And I ate more... and craved more sweets.
5. Same with protiens - low protein level - will make you weak and tired.
6. Smile, a lot. Even if there is not much to smile about. It will eventually make your life better. You feel better - you eat less. if you do not belive me - try - for one week - when you say hi to anyone - just smile - nice warm smile.
7. Make sure you maintain your friendship with good people. If they are no good - but toxic - get rid of them and find new friends.

Protein first, veggies second carbs last and only once a day.
No liquids 30 minutes before or after meals.
Always carry a mini bag of peanuts in my purse.
NEVER EVER EVER skip breakfast- ALWAYS have a protein drink in the morning.
Everyday is a new day. If I make a wrong food choice one day, start off with my protein shake for breakfast the next morning and make it a better day!
