Is it possible to be BOT and pregnant?

 Hey all
I am almost 2 yrs out from RNY, lost 145 lbs. Before I got pregnant I had gained about 15 lbs from my lowest, and now, 24 weeks pregnant, I have already  gained another 15. I am not eating well, but I don't think I know what "well" means for me. I want to be eating best for the baby, and for me and my RNY body, but I don't know what the balance is. In my total confusion, I have just been EATING. I feel like I have abused my pouch and am afraid it won't work for me anymore...
Any suggestions on what I can/should be eating - to be on track, but also healthy for baby?

Thanks guys!

Make an appointment with a nutritionist. Tell them to be prepared to give you the nutritional requirements for healthy pregnancy such as minimum protein, carb, fat and calories.  Ask them to also provide the information on RNY maintence diet protein, carb, fat and calories. This way you are educated with the information you need. I would also ask for breast feeding calorie protein carb and fat counts so that you do not have to pay again to see a nutritionist after you give birth.  I get free self refer nutritionist so its not an issue for me. But... I would ask them to have all the information for you. Other wise you will get a lecture of how many grams of fat is in an ounce of this and that and get to play with plastic food and talk about stuff you probably most likely know already.  You know that fast food is not best for baby. You know that a baby needs fortified foods with folic acid but mostly in the beginning, so that stage is passed.  A healthy balanced diet is what you need. Good protein from meats, calcium from cheese, yogurt and milk, fats from nuts seeds and avocado, carbs from veggies not pastas and rice. I do not think that any Dr would tell you differently.  I would add protein shakes at bed time so you dont want up starving. But that is just my pregnancy experience talking.

Thank you so much for that! It makes sense to go to a nutritionist and get some good, solid info. I guess going to the same one I went to before my surgery would probably be the best bet.
Yes, there are some things I know, so it's not like I am starting from the begining, but I was starting to feel lost in what was right for a pregnant woman, and what was right for an RNY-er, and having a hard time figuring out what is right for BOTH!

Thanks again!!
