MSBFGE - 14 Days to Go - Do you believe how fast time flies
It's seems it was just yesterday I came here and said ok girl you have to get it going....and it was almost 6 weeks ago. While I am not happy with what the scale says I am happy with what I have learned...
I think we all need some time to challenge ourselves and dig deep. I know all the right things to do, with food and working out. What I found is there is "something" going on that I need to follow up on. I do have an appointment with my PCP but I think I need to go back to my surgeon and talk to someone that knows all the things we "oldies" but goodies face.
When you are doing all the right things and still not feeling well, then you need to dig deeper. That being said, I am so thrilled for my son. We all agree when he asked her the "big" question we want to be in the bushes
Thanks for all the encouragement and support. I hope we helped each other.
Stay tuned
Take care,
Kathy

My son asked his wife to marry him when they were on a vacation with friends somewhere overseas, I'm not good at remembering the location. His friend carried the ring for him along with the receipt to prove they bought it in the states and his friends wife didn't know that my son was going to be proposing on the trip either. My son was waiting for the perfect time and it took days before it happened. My DIL got tired of walking at a castle they were going through and sat down on a bench and my son sat with her and that is where he proposed, his friend was keeping his eye out for this all week and he was able to snap a photo of it in the process (what a great friend and great picture). She was very surprised as was her friend. It was a wonderful way to do it, I hope your son is able to find the "perfect moment" to ask her. (oh and that she says YES)
I am happy to see you post here again...I look for you every day. I get what you are saying about following up on any questions you mah "feel" or "have" that are not right...I am doing the same. In Jan. I had a PCP physical. I kow she tries to take the best care of me but she does not have the background to do so. I have sought out a new surgeon (Dr. Jeffery Rosen), who worked with mine (Dr. Brian Boe) to begin taking care of bariatric issues. My Iron levels were low and the PCP did not even check the ferritin levels....She got my numbers up in a hurry (30 days) but was not going to suggest a maintainence dose?? I did question it and she suggested one 325mcg tab daily (she had me on 3 daily for 30 days to get my levels up) but then did not schedule a recheck to insure that 1 a day would maintain my levels?? I experienced light headedness, almost a dizzy disoreintated feeling, low energy, could not get warm, tired immediately after waking from 8 hrs sleep, leg and foot cramps, etc. My D levels are also low bue within the labs normal range so I adjusted them myself. I am not comfortable perscribing my own supplements soooo I sought out Dr. Rosen. The soonest I could get in is May 19th. I have to start at the beginning as a new patient would, 4 hr appointment, see everyone an their brother while I am there, pay the $250 program fee, but I want reassurance that I am doing all the right things and want someone who knows WLS to watch over me.
We know when we feel good or right and should not stop until we achieve that feeling again. I will watch for updates as we learn so much from others experiences here on OH.
I am also watching your push to lose so don't give up....do your best each day whatever your best is for that day. Persevere Kathy.....

Tammie - sometimes we just have to "grab the bull by the horns" and do whatever it is we need to do to take care of ourselves. You are wise in doing that. I also work at a military facility and sometimes the luck of the draw does not give one a PCM that understands (or, sadly, sometimes cares) what the patient needs. I wish you well in your quest.
