Good Morning Botts

It was a long weekend for my son.  He flew out Friday to Cali to have dinner with the future MIL.  When he asked she said "why do you want to marry my daughter"?  Now keep in mind he is a "guy" and it was hard to get blow by blow information.  Us girls would have repeated it word for word   But after the interrogation she said yes.  Just between me and you I think the part where the kids want to move out there got her.  We will talk about that emotional eating trigger for me at a later date

Then he got up next morning and flew to Vegas and had lunch with the Dad. Same questions but a yes.  Then he was offered a free ticket, $200 and a hotel by the airport and decided to stay the night and then flew home around 1 yesterday.  We were to get together for Easter dinner but it told him to go veg and bless his heart he said he slept for 14 hours.  GF still does not have a clue.

So....my friends unless she says no on this trip it's a go    I used this weekend to reflect.  When you get older you do so more and more.  I had weeks to "get in shape", and it really has not gone well.  I really think it's because I just don't feel good.  Honestly I don't...no excuse.  I remember more of how great I felt a few years ago not so much a size.  I do have a physical coming up tomorrow and want to address this with her but the problem is she does not have any history with us  To really get to the bottom of my lack of feeling well I need to make an appointment with my surgeon.  It's going on 6 years and we all know there can be some problems long term.

The biggest wake up call was my latest "low blood sugar" attack.  I can tell when they are coming on but never had a "black out" before.  I feel lightheaded, hot and sweaty, can't focus on anything.  Kinda like a cloudy state, then I get cold.  Well normally I eat something and feel better.  This time I "think" I ate something and the next thing I remember waking up the next morning.  Yep, nothing was turned off downstairs, changed clothes, went to bed and don't remember a darn thing

Now here is the kicker, I wake up feeling so tired all the time.  This morning I felt like my old self energized and ready to run a race.  So my friends....us long timers need to stay on top of things and I need to do so myself.

I think this is an important subject and will repost about it on the boards.

Take care,
Kathy

Kathy,
Sorry to hear you are having issues like this.  I am blessed so far, 7 years and no major issues.

OK, I need to know, what did your DS tell his GF to explain his absence on a holiday weekend, or was she at school and didn't know he was out and about?  I don't even know your son but am very proud of him and can see what a great job you did raising him !

Hi Kathy,

Congratulations on your status of future mom-in-law!  They are VERY lucky to have your son as part of their family.  How could they have said NO???

As the mom of a teenager, I admire how you are handling this because I know how very close you and your son are.

Please let us know how it goes with your surgeon.  I hope you feel better and get some answers.

BOTT POWER!

Kathy, how's your iron level?  I don't have a low blood surgar problem, but I do have a fatigue problem and it is usually that my iron level is low.  Just a thought.  Sorry you are feeling "under the weather" as my grandmother would have said.

Do you think her mom will keep the secret until the cruise?  What would he have done if she had said no?  Can't believe that would stop a love stricken young man in this day and age LOL

Hope you get your physical problems resolved before you go.  You need to be able to enjoy Enjoy ENJOY your marvelous holiday!!!!!!!!!!!

Kathy, I had much the same symptoms as you describe....very low iron was the issue....

My iron levels have since improved and I feel a whole lot better.

I just got back to work from my Hawaii Cruise !!!  I only gained 2 lbs!! and worked out 4 times!!  I did not eat as good as I would have at home however all things considered I did alright!  I wish you the same!
