Back On Track Together
Friday 911, 611, 411 - BOTT
Hi BOTTers,
I took off a day for my birthday and I gave myself a great gift. My husband took off work and my sons were on Spring Break so we went for a day get-away. I packed some healthy snacks to be prepared but didn't need them. We went to restaurants that I was able to make healthy choices. Staying on track for my birthday was a wonderful gift. It made the trip about being with my family and what we were doing rather than where we were going to eat and what to eat!!
I've learned that food is not something to revolve your life around. It's a little work, but the rewards from eating right are huge. I hope to live many more years than I would have just a few years ago. Now, that's a happy birthday!
For Mother's Day, we always went to the same all-you-can-eat brunch. The Mother's Day after I had my surgery, I decided I wanted to do it different. We went to a beautiful park and did a hike. Now, if we'd done the pig-out place, I wouldn't remember it; since we celebrated by taking a family hike, it stands out as a special memory.
Celebrations don't have to be about the food. Actually, when they aren't centered around food, they are much more special and memorable.
That's my 411 (information) for today!
BOTT POWER,
Cathy
