Hello everyone. I finally made it here...

I am almost 2 years out from lap RNY.  I started out at a high of 315 lbs then lost 10 before surgery.  So far I have lost 180 lbs.  My goal is to get to 124.  (I am 5' 2").  I started out strong but have been picking up bad habits along the way.  I haven't exercised since before Thanksgiving.  I even joined a gym but only went 3 times.  I really don't like the gym though.  I have a Wii that is fun and live next to a state park which is wonderful for walking.  Just haven't been doing either one.  I still take all of my supplements like I should and get in my protein every day.  I haven't been getting in enough water and I have fallen into eating carbs again.  I know this will lead to weight regain so I am taking that first step to getting back on track.  I've created a long list of excuses for my behaviors... been under a lot of stress financially, work is very stressful, have had several health issues the past year, etc, etc,.  I just know it's time to take the bull by the horns and get control before it gets out of hand.  I've been reading the posts and it seems like this is a good place to start.  Thanks for sending the emails, I'm finally here.  I'm going to start off by going back to logging all of my intake again.  I stopped that too.  I'll weigh and take measurements.  I am going to start back with the Wii every day.  I plan to hop on it every morning when I first get up.  It seems my excuse is I'm too tired at the end of the day.  Also I will start measuring out my water for the day and making sure I get it in.  We'll see what happens from there.

Hi Sybul!!!

You have done fabulous!  I myself have had difficulties with motivation and slacking off on things that I know are important to my health.  Stress can be very difficult to deal with and I'm sorry that things are difficult for you right now.  One thing that I've learned over the last 5 years (RNY 10/04) is that what I put into my body is something I have complete control over when everything around me seems to be pressuring me.  Time to get back on track and being here is a great way to start.  With me it's all or nothing, but with alot of people, they have better luck getting back on track using baby steps.  You sound like you have a solid plan for getting BOT.  Best of luck to you!!  The people on this board are in the same boat and are extremely helpful in getting us past these roadblocks.

Take Care!

WELCOME   I'm so glad you have chosen to join our little family - and we have become a family (one that we have hand picked).  I can only hope you find this group of folks as helpful as I have.  I call them angels in disguise as humans   I have no douts that I would never have been able to get back/stay on track without their caring, support, acceptance, understanding, and positiveness.  If you are comfortable, please post often and allow us to share your journey.  Don't be shy let us know how we can best be of help.

Many of us find that posting on the Cardio & Cafe thread everyday is a wonderful way to keep ourselves accountable and to give and receive support.  Truly one cannot give support without also receiving at the same time.

Sounds as though you know exactly what you need to do to get back on track and be off and running on your way to goal

It's a funny thing about motivation, we think we need it.  While it sure is nice to have it, it isn't really what we need.  What we really need is to quit "voting" about whether we are going to stay on track or give in to a craving - but simply be a Nike Girl ("Just DO It")

Again, Welcome  WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER - YES WE CAN   (It's called BOTT POWER)
