Need some advice...

Hi, All:

I have been working out regularly for several weeks, and have increased my workouts quite a bit -- strength training 3 times a week, now I am going for 5 every week.  Cardio is worked in there, along with stretching.

The computerized workout that follows what I do is seeing me burning anywhere from 1050-1200 calories per workout!  I spoke with the trainer today because I couldn't imagine that it is right, and she explained that it is true, based on the workout they have me set on....and we went through everything.  Sooo....since I am only taking in anywhere from 1100-1200 calories per day, I am wiping out whatever calories I take in.

I have stopped losing weight.  I am getting in all of my fluids, and then some, I am getting in over 100g of protein a day.  I faithfully take my supplements every day.

My trainer suggested that I am in the starvation mode, that I should up my caloric intake to see if that makes a difference, and "change up" my workout routine to see if that will help.

I would love to hear what your thoughts are.

Thanks!  :)

boy, that sounds so much like my situation.  I will be so glad to hear what people say.  I am averaging about 1500 calories a day.

I had the same problem, starvation mode.  My body bugg showed that I burned about 2550 calories a day.  I started to see the scale move when I choose 1 day that I eat more calories, to shock my metabolism.  It seems to work.
Good luck!

Hi, Deb:

Thanks for responding!  Just a question for you:  Do you do that just once in awhile or once a week?

Thanks!

Vagirl,
I do it once a week, usually on the weekend.  I make sure that I get over 100 grams of protein in a day.

Thanks for the information, Deb!  I get in over 100g protein a day, but I am going to try to kick up the calories a little and see if that makes a difference.  Thanks for replying!  :)

absolutely....up the calories, continue to log foods and monitor intake and burned calories....you will see the results.
