 Good Morning Botts,

I come here to today with head hanging....    A lady that adores working for my husband stopped by and she baked some "healthy" cookies.  She said try one, I said no (I was so proud of myself).  After she left, DH kept eating them and saying Wow, they are awesome, try one, they are healthy.  I was feeling so good about the last two weeks and thought "I AM IN CONTROL".  Well.....

Tried one and then another and another and to be honest I don't know how many of those suckers I ate.  WTH?

I think I fell into that mental trap of I have been perfect for 2 weeks, eating right, exercising and I can eat this...you know a reward.  Well it proved I was not as in control as I thought and I am one of those people I have to stay away from that until I am at goal.

So Back On Track this morning but lesson learned

Oatmeal with whey protein
apple
LF cottage cheese and sliced tomatoes
sliced almonds
Grilled salmon and grilled asparagus (YUM)

PS....I have asked for the recipe as those "healthy" cookies were damn good and I want to know what is in them and the nut count.

Take care,
Kathy

PSS....it's going to be 60 here today so I am going to walk the dogs and get my bike out.

Hey Kathy!  Every day is another chance.  I have food issues too and cookies or crackers or SF candies... well any of them can be my undoing.  i just try, try again... repeat as required these days.

What kind of whey protein do you use in your oatmeal?  I use it my oat bran (got hooked prior to WLS) and I like the Labrada Lean Desserts Cinnamon Roll in it and just bought their Banana Nut and plan to try it. It's yummy as a shake made with light almond milk.  I've also used Whey Gourmet Chocolate Peanut Butter.  This stuff is at least as good as a cookie.

Yum, I will have to try those flavors have not done so.  I use Isopure from my gym Lifetime. It's very creamy and in the hot oatmeal adds a sweetness to it.

Thanks for the kinds word...today is a new day.

Take care,
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

I love what you said "lesson learned" because that is what this is all about.  You learned where you can and can't go right now and the "I AM IN CONTROL" is different in different settings and with different foods.

YOU'RE DOING IT!!

 Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Told Jim to hide them.  They may not be bad, but then again how many times have we thought something healthy translated into low cal, low fat, low all the good stuff.  Those cookies were too damn good and no way are the healthy.  LOL

Thanks Cath!

Hey Kathy

when my hubbie kept leaving the salted peanuts out after me having asked him to put them away countless number of times I eventually asked him if he would leave a glass of wine out if I was an alcoholic?  I explained that to me the peanuts are exactly the same - I am unable to say no at the moment.  Once I put it in these terms, he understood and puts them out of sight!

Maybe a way to explain it to your hubbie?  and by the way - there is no need to hang your head unless you chose not  to use this experience as a positive learning opportunity :o)

Hi Kathy,
You really don't want to know the stats on those cookies. Why get yourself hung up on it.  Just keep on walking...  And...  Keep on BOTTing!  You're doing a great job!
