Back On Track Together
WOW, BOTT ROCKS!!
Good morning everyone!
I am so happy this week after my gain last week.
I went to weigh****chers on Saturday and lost 8.8 pounds this week (after my 5 pound regain).
YAY!!! My workout kicks butt too. I think that really helped me lose my gain plus some. Now to keep on track and get down.
I've got 96 days until my trip to Austria.
Staying on track and exercise with a trainer is the way to go for me.
Next week Monday I have an appointment with my WLS. He will be so pleased.
I just had to share this separately, as I haven't had such a loss in several years.
Thanks to everyone here.
Lucy
Congratulations!! Way to go.
I agree with you, BOTT definitely works. It works for our WLS but also other goals. Last year I had been putting off completing a lengthy application to obtain my advanced credential in coaching. I posted about it here and completed the application. I took my exam and obtained my advanced credential. That's when I came up with BOTT POWER. BOTT POWER works for wls and in all other aspects of our lives.
BOTT POWER,

I'm feeling really good about my BOTT progress as well..... down 8 lbs in the 3 wks since I started. Slow and steady is what my body does best so I've learned to have my mind get on board...
The key for be is both the accountability - declaring my goals and having to "show-up" with my process and results - AND cranking up my exercise intensity - using 30 sec. intervals of high intensity with a 1-3 min recovery between.
Keep up the great consistency and you'll be fabulous by your trip!!!!
Here's to another great week!

I just got back on OH and found you were a part of BOTT. I just joined! I was real sick and on prednisone for 2 weeks...needless to say I gained 7 lbs!!! I also had foot surgery again in Feb so I'm just getting back into my Jazzercise routine.
You're going to Austria...awesome! Where do you go to work with a personal trainer? I miss you.
Take care
Sue
It's been a very long time. I'm sorry that you were sick and had foot surgery. You'll get those 7 pounds off in no time.
I started with a personal trainer at Body Empowered Fitness in Buffalo Grove. It's only a mile away with convenient hours. I go before work.
The past 2 years were bad for me. I let myself go and had a large regain. Of course, I hate myself for doing it.
Now it is so hard to lose without the malabsorption. Guske did put a band on me in May 2008 but I haven't lost anything - but gained. Band life sucks.
I am looking into a revision to a duodenal switch. Just researching it now. I did let Dr. Guske know. He thinks I can lose the weight over time, but it is so slow sometimes nothing. There's a Dr. Rabkin in San Francisco that is well known and has done many DS procedures and revisions. I submitted my paperwork so we'll see.
He comes to Chicago monthly for his informational seminar. I would have to travel to San Francisco for the surgery. Nicolle on the IL board had it done and she recommends him highly.
In the meantime, I am seeing Guske monthly so I will have my documentation. I also am seeing a clinical psychologist to help me with my emotional eating. Seems like I have a mild case of ADD and was started on a low dose of amphetamines.
I am trying so hard. I miss my cute small clothes and my support meetings. It's just too hard for me to come to them.
Maybe we can get together sometime. I know that you golf and that takes up your days.
Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for writing me.
Lucy
Hi Lucy,
I do miss you. Maybe one of these weekends we can go for a walk and catch up! I haven't gone to a support group meeting in a long time - I really didn't find them helpful but I enjoyed seeing the people.
I know of people *****ally haven't had success with the band. Did you discuss the new Stomaphyx procedure with Guske? I asked Wallace but he said I'm not a candidate because my weight has been pretty much the same. I have been having thyroid issues - my doctor has increased my medicine from .75 mg to 1.25 mg in the past year. (I feel like I'm always looking for a reason)!
My golf season starts in 2 weeks and I am very excited about that. I hope my foot will get better soon so I can add more vigorous excercise instead of "chair Jazzercise"!
Maybe we can go for a walk in the next few weekends - if not outside at the mall.
Talk to you soon!
Sue
