BOTT 911 - Monday
Hi BOTTers,
For some strange reason, I'm still struggling with getting back on track after being sick. I'm on track but it is a challenge. Nothing in particular is going on for me right now that I can identify so I can deal with it appropriately. I've felt better for over a week so not sure what's up. I'll ride it out but it isn't as effortlessly as it was before I got sick.

Hi Cathy. I am still recovering from a particularly nasty bout of Fibromyalgia, so I know how hard it can be to get started after being ill. I also had my gall bladder out and a female surgery this past December and it is really hard to work back up on the exercise, but I'm still doing what I can. Walking beats nothing, but I'm hoping to get back on my bike with Spring. Took a nice ride Friday evening, but with my Uncle's death I'm kind of.... well, messed up a bit would be the best description I guess. We can do this. Like I told my Uncle's wife, we do it one step at a time, one minute, one hour... and we get through the hardest part and gets easier. Maybe it's never easy, but it IS easier.

You have a lot on your plate between the sudden passing of your uncle and physically not up to your norm. My support is with you especially now.
You are so right - sometimes it is a day at a time and if that is too big then we can break it into an hour or a minute. Whatever it takes. I just want to get that internally driven BOTT going so it doesn't have to be so hard.

Sound's like you both need more TLC - and for my "inner child" that always means I think of the food comfort/escape. So, as we all know, the challenge is to redirect to getting the TLC in health ways....

Hey all! I think any disruption can be hard to recover from, but sickness is awful indeed. My mouth just hurts really bad still from getting my wisdom teeth pulled. I am not a baby when it comes to pain, but for some reason this has really knocked me on my butt.
I am hoping to start working out more this week, my eating has been just soft foods and lots of liquid.. it is hard, but I'm hanging in there. The vicodin made me crave sugar and carbs like CRAZY! I was thankful for the sweet protien drinks.
Today the challenge is just to keep making the right choices and doing this for myself... not for anyone else.

Well it's official, I've officially gained 15lbs. I went to the nutritionist, weighed and had lab work drawn. It was really eye opening and humbling to see it on their scales. THat's 15 lbs over the last year. So it's time to really get BOTT!
I am preparing to get BOTT by going to the store and buying some chicken for my hubby to grill when he gets home tonight to make salads. I've got plenty of tuna. I bought some raw spinach and mixed greens. Got some light raspberry vinagarette salad dressing. I've got plenty of protein shakes too. That's my plan for the next 4 days.
I heard today that I'll be going to dayshift the last week of this month! I'm so excited and will be so glad to get on a decent schedule of sleep and eating. Plus getting some regular exercise is going to be a plus! I will miss my buds on nights but it's all for the best.
If anyone has any other ideas to help me get BOTT I'd love to hear them! I appreciate your support and encouragement! I'm so glad I found you all!

You can lose 15 pounds. It was a wake-up call for you but it certainly is doable. You've got a great plan for your food and your schedule change will help you with a more predictable normal schedule for exercise.
