Gum/Sugar Free Candy vs. aspartame--Good or Bad??

How many of you use gum and s/f candy in between meals to help stop eating caloric foods?  I think they help me sometimes especially if I drink with glass of water.  I am aware it contains aspartame which is shown to cause weight gain. Your thoughts please.  Thanks in advance for all replies.

Look at those calories - I think you may be amazed at how many calories that candy has - sugar free is often FAR from low calorie.  Make your food earn its way into your mouth by providing some of the nutrition your body needs to be healthy.

Are you getting ALL of your protein EVERY DAY?  Are you taking all of your supplements?  Are you getting your all of your water?  Are you exercising?  How many calories a day are you consuming?  Perhaps dividing your calories into more small meals might help.

I wish you well

I on occassion do have a candy, but I think it encourages eating between meals. Chewing gum makes your saliva go, which makes you hungry. At least that's how it works for me. Conquering cravings works best for me by setting my outlook every 15 minutes at work to remind me to have a drink of water. I've gotten in all my water for the day and you'd be surprised how fast it makes the day go by!

A lot  of these have Sugar Alcohols in them.  I don't know how they affect you - but most of them give me excess gas. Not something I want to deal with.

I use flavored water - and I try to make sure I do not use any with aspartame.
