Melva - I plan my food before I leave for the whole time I will be gone, I ask for a refrigerator and microwave in the room if they are available (if microwaves are not available for individual rooms, there almost always is one in the lobby that guests can use., then take all of the food I will be eating for those days.  Sometimes I allow myself one meal in a resturant.  Sometimes I don't.  I have done this so long I often feel more comfortable when I know exactly what I'm eating and don't have to estimate a meal in a strange resturant - and sometimes I want it and see it as a treat.  Usually, I am overly cautious and end up eating less than my allotted calories.  If I know far enough ahead of time, I pack a box with the food I will need and mail it to me at the hotel.  That way I don't have to pay for checking an extra piece of luggage.

In short, I do whatever I need to do to stay on track and MAINTAIN.  Maintenance takes the same care and planning as losing - and that was new information for me.  I'm still learning how to do that.

I wish you well

Thanx Happy I will ask for fridge and microwave, I tell them I had a gastric Bypass and like a diabetic I have to have my food available like a diabetic..LOL and it works.

I will plan my food and take with we are served a dinner and a lunch during the 3 day convention otherwise I am on my own. As for my next trip I will send the food ahead of time I like that thought, I am committed to staying BOTTED.

I am gonna keep telling my self NO CHOICE

Me;va - I'm so proud of you!!!!   I've never been asked why I want a fridge or microwave - they really don't give a hoot LOL

You might want to take some back-up food for the dinner and lunch (or a you may not) just in case they happen to be "disaster meals"  You can kind of shove the food around on you plate and not eat much if you choose to do that.  But in the grand scheme of life - a lunch and a dinner are not going to be significant unless they start you down the slippery slope of getting off track for more than those two meals.  You will know what's best for you.

I wish you well

I have found at most conventions I've gone to there has been pretty good food for lunch and Dinner, the only problem I have had is when they provide breakfast, it is always sweets, breads, fruit, etc, not much protein.  You might want to at least pack your protein and have it for breakfast.

I do put my Chocolate protein in my coffee, it makes it taste like hot cocoa.  The thing to remember is to try it before you leave home.  I pack a small wisk with me so I can mix the protein in a little bit of cold water first then gradually add the hot coffee, my protein powder will lump up if I put it straight in hot coffee.  This way I can do it in my room with the coffee they usually provide in your room.

Good Luck and just do your best !  (also, don't know how many conferences you have been to but I always wear and outfit that has a jacket or take a sweater, I don't think I have ever been in a conference room that they didn't try to freeze you out !  Probably trying to keep the group awake...LOL)
