Hey Everyone,

I bet you can't guess what it did last night?  Nah, won't talk about the "S" word.  Today is going ok for now, but wanted to get this thread going just in case    It's early....

Come on and share, rant, rave, and tell us what is making you want to eat?

Take care,
Kathy

I've been doing pretty good for a week or so.  A few tough days but I got through them.  I actually lost 6 lbs.  SIX!  Last two days have been a struggle though.  and yesterday I fell for the cookies.  In my 'wisdom' I didn't eat dinner, just some yogurt veggies to make up for the calories.  And the whole day worked out...OK, NOT!  I gained 3 lbs this morning. I am so bummed and yes, pissed!
I am so tired of this.  I don't want to think about food all the time!  I've been dieting, watching what I eat, counting calories or some other food related activity for...are you ready for this??  50 years!!!  Yes, I started counting calories when I was 10.  I'm 60 and still doing it.  Sick and tired of it.

Welcome to the club, Daily  I'm right there with you on the 50 years (I'm 77)  But you know what, it isn't like we didn't think about food befpre sirgery.  What I've learned about maintenance (this is the 3rd time I've lost 100+ lbs, but the first time I've been able to maintain for even a month before I started regaining - regardless of how much or how little I lost)  It takes the same dedication, effort, planning, and commitment to maintain as it took me to lose.  I still have to count calories, I still have to plan ahead, I still have to write it down, and, yes, sometimes I have to remind myself I will not fall over dead if I don't give in to my craving.  But you know what - IT'S WORTH ALL THE EFFORT IT TAKES!!!!!  YOU CAN DO THIS - WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER   Please don't give up.

Thanks.  When I wrote that thismorning I was one breath away from saying to hell with it.  Your right, it's worth the effort and it is a life long commitment.  Thanks for saying the right thing at the right time!

I am still steaming over my coworker stupid comment "you look like you gained weight..." It did not help that i went to Kohl's and they had a rack of cute shirts on sale , but the M was way too small on me.  I bought XL - and then i realized that the rack was for teenagers...

Of course this morning nothing look like it fit me and the mirror showed a "fat" person instead of me.  And I was started to feel good about myself.
Last night I had a small dinner, then a late snack, but my calories intake was just around 1200. Just enough to cause weigh loss... Grrrrr... I wish i could hurt the guy, but violence will not solve anything, beside if I do - on top of felling fat - I would also feel like an "crazy person".    Not that I am not... Grrrrr...
Yesterday i confronted the guy - and he got apologetic telling me: "Well, for a while you looked skinny, and now it looks like you put on some weight..... "  WTF is wrong with some people?
Where did I put on weight? I went from size 6-8 to 4-6, so WTH is wrong with his eyes? never mind.
But that does not want me to eat.  And I know I should.   Since if I do not eat now - I will get hungry at dinner and eat something I would regret... or made myself sick...

Not trying to make things worse, but maybe it was the outfit?  Luckily when I had gained weight nobody ever said anything to me, but when I took off the weight this past winter that I had gained back several people commented with the, "you lost some weight, you had really put some back on hadn't you" !  It kinda left me speechless for a few minutes (that is rare for me) But they were right !  You are doing great and you look great!

I honestly have no clue - it was probably the fact that my face - after looking so thin, and drawn, got a bit fuller.  Some fluid rettention - shown in a face may also have something to do with that.
as you know - when we lose the weight, the body gets the fat from everywhere - and initially the face looks thinner, skin "hanging", that it should.  Then eventually - some of the skin gets a bit thight and we look "fuller' on the face..or maybe we get some of the tfat back into the face? .

I know - logically that he does not know what is he talking about, but - on an emotional part - comments like that - considering some my body dosmorphic issue - are just an appetite killer.
I will eat - enough to get my proteins and vitamin, and water - but other that that - I can't eat anything more.  I know it is stupid, and it is irrational, but - as with many other things -  at this point in my joureny - I still can't help it...

I had someone do that to me too.
Since I was 117 and now I keep bouncing around 137. Yes, my 2s don't fit, my 4s do and had to buy 2 pair of 6s when I went to Barbados last month, but I was
A) drinking too much wine.... (just got married) and
B) have a hip injury that I am taking steroids and in rehab for it.

But this last month, he stopped working out. Started eating one or two donuts a day (We are in law enforcement.) And last week he said he gained 8 lbs. All I could say was wow, that sucks and smile. He'll get his whether it's in weight, life, or another area. Smile. I think you look beautiful!

Hi Kath,

ERRrrrrr!  As you know, my laptop had a virus weeks ago.  I thought I pretty much had it handled and was evening considering going back to paying my bills on line.  Well, NOT!  Last night I ran my usual daily scan and it came up with 47 VIRUSES ON MY LAPTOP!  What??!!!  So, my husband went into work late so he could take it to the computer hospital.  I was expecting the worse.  It turned out to be okay and how we handled it was exactly what we should have done.  However, I had to work on my sons' desktop and it was lousy.  Don't get me wrong, I am appreciative of being able to do my job and have a computer to do it on but it is less than optimum.  Anyway, my laptop is back and everything checked out okay.  Still, the stress of it all made it a stressful day.  Nothing that some sugar and fat wouldn't soothe?  I pretty much stayed on track so I'm grateful for that.  I told myself that my laptop trauma drama would not get the best of my BOTTing for today.

Issues with computers are so frustrating for me.  To think someone with the experience and knowledge to create these horribly destructive viruses uses it for evil and not for positive is unbelieveable to me.

Tomorrow is a new day!!

Thanks, Cathy

Cathy
