Back On Track Together
Hello
I had my lap band surgery on 05/24/07 started at 327 went down to 189 and now am back up to 233 and am freaking out!!!!!
It seems like my band is no longer working. I have not been working out for the past year. I am recommitting as of today. I will be back to this site often. I am shocked this is happening to me. It doesn't seem like I am eating so much as to regain 40 lbs in 3 months. I will start tracking all my food intake and start hitting the gym again.
I am so disappointed in myself. Everything that I learned, all the good habits I picked up since my surgery seem to be gone.
I'll be visiting this site often.
Thanks
Sharon

OK Fish - First of all a big hearty WELCOME to you Did you know it's quite common to gain some at about two years out? That's when FOREVER begans to take on real meaning. Please know YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE - YOU ARE A HUMAN. Humans aren't perfect, humans make mistakes, humans can correct their mistakes, humans can learn from their mistakes.
I had my lap band surgery 4+ yrs ago (12/2005), reach goal (lost 100 pounds) in a year by watching my calories like a hawk, gained 30-35 pounds two year later, made several attempts to get back on tack, but it was not until I found this group that I was successful. Not only am I back to goal weight (and a little bit lower) I AM MAINTAINING. First time I've been able to maintain in my life.
I atrribute my success to the caring, understanding, accepting, positive folks here. I call them angels in disguise as humans
Believe me, if I can do it ANYONE can do it!!!!!! WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER, YES WE CAN
Post dailing our Cardio & Cafe thread. It's a great way to hold yourself accountable A great way to help yourself and to help others

Hi Sharon,
A big BOTT welcome to you. I am so glad you part of our BOTT family.
We have all been where you are. Just as Happy suggested to you above, track your food, water and activity. That was instrumental when I regained some weight to lose it again. I would also encourage you to post and hang out here on our group. It is a very special group of members. When we struggle - we share it; when we have successes - we share it. I have obtained so much encouragement and motivation here.
One thing came to my mind as I read your post. What is going on in your life that might be causing you to emotionally eat? I know, for me, when I regained weight, it was definitely an emotional response to what was going on with me. I just wanted to throw it out there to possibly help you. I am a huge emotional eater so when I want to eat, rather than eat (most of the time!), I check in and focus on what I am feeling and what is causing it.
Again, welcome. BOTT POWER!!

Tracking and writting down your food is important. I had a few days that I thought I ate very little - but after counting all - I was very close to 1400 cal and over 100 gr protein. And from what? Like yesterday. Not really eating a "meal" since I was on a go - it felt like I did not have much, but all the protein shakes, protein bar, some cheese sticks, some samples (of cheese and fruits) - and I was well into 1400 cal. In evening I felt that I needed to eat a meal - but after calculating all of those "little nothing" I snacked on during the day - I realized that what I could "afford" was - maybe a small - low fat snack... (I had yogurt) and only because I wanted to make sure my BS stay stable over night.
Many days - If I do not have time to plan or add as I eat things - I add my calories and prot at app 4-5 p.m. to see how much I had eaten and how much I still have to (or can) eat. Some days is a lot - others - not so much.... Our memory can be so selective.
