Hello every one.  I had gastric ByPass on August 22, 2001.  Started out at 385 went doen to 250 and now I find myself at 300 and like you all I am freaking completely out, because I donot want to be who I once was.  I have tried everything and got an epiphany...duh Yolanda go to Obesity Help and talk amongst your peers.  Any suggestions that may work for me jumpstarting the weight loss and exercise tips?

Hi Yolanda,
Welcome to BOTT!  Check out the "Getting Back on Track" heading by Cathy.  She has suggestions on how to regain control of your eating.  Make sure that you post daily under the "Cardio/Cafe" topic, it really does help to plan out our meals.  Everyone here is extremely helpful with answering any questions and offering ideas.  Looking forward to your posts.

Yoldanda - WELCOME   Hope you find this group as helpful as I have.  I know I would never have been able to get back/stay on track without their caring, understanding, acceptance, and positivness.  I call them angels in disguise as humans

We are a family - a family we have chosen to be a part of - and now you are a part of that family too.  Welcome to the family

We've all been where you are or we wouldn't be here.  We want to help, just let us know how.  You have some excellent suggestions here.  Give them a try.  We've found they help a lot.

Thank you for allowing us to share in your journey

Good morning Yolanda.

Welcome to BOTT. I've regained a little over 100 pounds and just started back about 2+ weeks ago.

This is the best support group to get back on track and to the basics. There is a lot of support here and no shame!

I felt so ashamed of myself but feeling that way didn't help me get back on track. I figured one meal, one day and the one week at a time. It does work but you do have to realize that the weight won't come off as it did in the beginning. We have to work at it much harder but it is doable.

Good luck and come here daily for support.

Hugs,
Lucy

Hi Yolanda,

You are definitely in the right place.  We understand as many of us have either regained some weight or daily keep in mind that we don't want to!!  This is a very special group of members unlike any other I've ever belonged to.

The best suggestion that I can give to you is to go back to what worked for you when you first had surgery.  What are you doing now (or not doing) that you were doing when you were losing?  Go back to the basics of what you practiced when you were losing.

Unfortunately, you will lose at a slower rate than before but you will lose.  Be consistent and persistent in healthy choices nutritionally and be active.  Keep your expectations in check because you won't lose quickly like you did the first time.  When I realized that I would lose at a slower rate, it was hard to accept, but it did happen for me.  It will for you too.

Welcome to BOTT and hang out with us here and post.
