Back On Track Together

Decided today

So I have been struggling for the past few years.  I have tried to do other programs and nothing seems to click.  It is not the program I know it is me.  Recenlty I have been doing WW, but I know I am getting way to many calories in and of course WW allows you to eat whatever you want long as you stay within your points and focus on healthy guidelines.  I decided that is not working for me and I just need to get back to the basics of surgery, watch my calories, carbs, fat, sugar, protien first.  Etc.

I am going to try to come aorund more often here for support in order not to get off track again.

Happy Valentines day weekend everyone.  Wishing you much success and happiness.

Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to BOTT!  You've made the first step in getting back on track, and you will find plenty of support and inspiration here.  We all are doing the same as you trying to stay focused, while dealing with everyday life situations and eating.  Be sure to check out Cathy W.'s Back on Track Together Guidelines and Information.  There is a wealth of information there I'm sure most of us have forgotten since we had surgery.  I visit the thread often as a reminder of the do's & don't.  Post on the Cardio & Cafe board, plenty of meal suggestions, don't be a stranger or a lurker, jump in and join us.

Hi Jennifer,

Ditto, ditto, ditto to what Dreamgirl shared with you. There is something about this grop, the members and just being together getting and staying on track. Journaling my food, water and exercise helps me immensely. I have found the more I am in touch with my emotions and keep them in check by dealing with them more than eating over them, I feel immeasurably better.

Hang out with us and benefit from BOTT POWER!

Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome.  I'm excited to be re-energized and focused.  There is a website called active.com where you can sign up for walks, runs, swims, marathons, etc and I have decided i am going to slowly get involved and back into exercise.  So in March I will do a 1 mile walk, in April I will do a 3 mile and keep on moving and pushing myself.  I remember ten years ago when I was only 3 months post op I did a 3k and so there is no reason I cannot do it now.

Jennifer,
I've been on this group for a couple of weeks and it has made such a difference in what I'm doing now! I tried going back to guidelines based on a diet that wasn't  according to our surgical guidelines. It was too may carbs and calories.

I love these gals! They are so supportive and helpful!
Welcome!
Janie
