Today is a busy day for me. We're going out to eat for my daughter's birthday with the inlaws. We're doing the local hibachi grill. Which is pretty safe except for their awesome spicy rice. I will plan for this and eat the chicken and veggies. I may have a few bites of rice but not until AFTER I've had my protein. I won't make the same mistake I did last night. (See my post Tomorrow Is Another Day)

Of course we have ice cream cake afterwards. I'm planning on making my cottage cheese/ sugar free cool whip stuff for me to eat instead of cake.

Today I plan on mainly doing protein drinks and making some carb friendly dishes for me to put away for the next few days.

I can't believe how easy it has been to fall back into the paying more attention to what I'm eating. Watching what's bariatric friendly and what's not. I'm still struggling a bit with drinking during my meals, especially when we go out and eat which we've been doing and will be doing this weekend. But I have become more aware and that's the point of my ramblings here!

I attribute a lot of it to this group! YOU GUYS ARE SO AWESOME! Thanks!

Have you ever wondered if you were ever really on track?  Lately I've begun to wonder.
The reason - In analyzing my patterns it seems I've set myself up for failure.  In every program I have not followed a pattern that would be maintained for life by me.  Not that I am failing because but because I have been trying to do something that I don't want to do.  I don't want to give up foods I enjoy.
Bottom line - I want to eat the foods that I like but within the limits of allowing me to get and keep my desired weight when on the scale.
Not an unreasonable desire.
Problem - I want it yesterday and it is going to take time, trial and error.  My head knows this but when the error time comes, the frustration follows.  However I don't give up.  I keep trying to get on track and find my happy medium.
I love this and many other helpful sites.  They allow me to be me and hopefully don't discourage or negatively influence others.  I believe I'm honest about my eating and my strategies.  Some things will work some may not.  I welcome comments of ones that agree or disagree with my methods.
At 56 I do beat to my own drummer and have learned to weigh all information and make informed decisions.  Thank you for your help.

I just posted about my drinking while eating on another thread.  I need to learn not to take my water bottle with me everywhere and/or not to order water or beverage when out to eat.

That will definately be my focus this week is to eat and wait before drinking so I can allow myself to stay full longer.
