Welcome back Helen

I love how you have a back up plan...ok if I talk myself out of walking in the rain then I can do the stairs

Be sure and check out our docs and ask for help.  Also, post  your food and exercise on the Cafe and Cardio thread.

We are so glad to see you here

Take care,
Kathy

KNEES!!!! That's been my problem lately! I've been trying to do my WII Fit and it is killing my knees. I went to the doc yesterday so he injected my left knee and told me to take it easier. OMG! IT's the one thing that I can count on doing. I have some physical therapy to do now. I'm hoping I can get some tips on exercising. i would love to go join the gym but it's expensive but it might just be worth it once I'm on dayshift to do the pool aerobics! We'll just have to see. I think I'll check with the local civic center for water aerobics...just thinking out loud here!

My food is getting better. I have to go to the store and get me some gum....for my picking. I may go through a pack/day of gum just to get over my habit of picking at stuff. I tried getting stuff out of the house. Well my daughter who has been sick with pneumonia is feeling better and gets up and make "muddy buddies" with Chex mix, chocolate, butter and peanut buttter. The best things in the world. So she took them with her to school today. Thank goodness. Now I just have brownies that I'm getting ready to throw out!

Whew, I feel better! I'm so grateful for this thread!

Hi Janie,

Call your local Y and you don't have to be a member to use the pool.  If you want to take a class it will cost more if you are not a member.  They have different classes that address people with joint pain and it ROCKS...you get a great workout and don't have pain afterwards...  Here are a couple of examples from my Y:

H2O Arthritis Plus ▲ WI, SP1, SP2
Feeling a little rusty in your hinges? Want to improve your flexibility and
range of motion? Then you will love our low impac****er fitness class held in
our heated Family Pool. This class will get you warmed up and ready to start
your week off on the right foot

Swimnastics class offers active older adults a fun way to exercise. Emphasis
will be on improving flexibility, circulation, muscle toning, and cardiovascular
conditioning. No swimming skills are required to participate in this class.

Good luck

I need a kick in the butt today. I am in Alaska... we have had snow on the ground daily since October. We have not had fresh snow in a few days now so the streets are pretty clear. I have the following to do today.

Go purchase Coffee and Herbal Tea along with Cottage Cheese.
I have a pile of clean laundry that needs to be put away.
A few dishes that need tending
A bed that still needs to be made
I need a shower and then the motivation to get out of the house to go purchase what I need.
I also need to do my listings on Ebay this evening for my Ebay store.

I have do not want to do laundry or dishes... I want a maid. I do not see why I can not be a housewife and have a maid? There must be a way to make that work!

I got my blog posts updated yesterday and I am trying to post daily now with pouch friendly recipes and my meal plans.  Well that is about it.

I need some motivation.  It feels like an elephant in the room because I just do not want to do any of it.

I am cold!

Now I feel stupid, complaining about winter and  you live in Alaska    I don't know what you are doing way up there but if I had to move somewhere like that I would have negotiated at least a cleaning lady

I see in your list it's all the things you don't want to do, so I would be shuffling around putting them off too.  Think of something fun to do for YOU and add it into your list.  So once you are done with all of those "other" things reward yourself with that special something for YOU

Thank you that is just what I needed. I have been to the store and have my groceries for the weekend. I got some extra good deals while I was there on laundry soap and a room size rug that was on clearance for 35.00, whooo hoooo because we have hard wood floors and its cold in my living room. It still only covers about 1/3 of the floor but it is in the sitting area and already is warming up in here. Or maybe it is just me feeling so good about getting stuff done. I went to the gym to look around and will be starting at 9:30 Monday when they open!! It looks great and all the equipment is brand new. They have a separate pilates and yoga room as well as aerobics room so there will be more than one class to choose from at a time hopefully.  I had a 911 moment when I became starved and had to eat but I did okay. I went to Carls Jr and got a Chicken Sandwich no bun no mayo wrapped in lettuce. I am so full now!!!  I also made it to the post office and got my bed made and laundry put away. I now am going to declutter a bit and reward myself with a hot tea and a fire in the fireplace!!!

I am still waiting for you... lol.. You may bring the dogs.. Backyard is ready.

But - the 911 - I am still so frigging tired.  Post op PS.  Harder on me than I expected.

The weather is OK.  Nice and sunny but cold (relatively lol). I had to wake up the cat this morning.  It was so windy last night and she probably was by the window most of the night since this morning I had to lift her from my belly (she sleeps on me, and usually is first up with the alarm clock).  I had to pet her, and then take her down from the bed.  She refused to move.  She went out for 5-10 min, and once she got home- went to sleep upstairs.  I think she was trying to tell me that she will not be going out again ant time soon.  Fine with me.  She can use litter box for the rest of the day today.

Beside being tired -  I think I am dehydrated - I drank so much coffee to stay awake - that I did not have much room for any water today.  Very bad.  So today - I need to drink more - which means I will not eat much... uh...

I'm out of sorts these days.  Dealing with a family crisis and lots of emotions...fear of the unknown, mainly.

Don't feel good about my food.  Really struggling come evening hours.

Lisa

PS - didn't do cardio and didn't plan my meals  -- just in a good place.
