Back On Track Together
I am also new
I am 19 months out, and find that I am getting hungry. It frightens me that I can eat more food. I still need to lose 40 pounds and I am great during the day and find I am falling back into old habits at nite. I have been exercising consistently, so I have that done pat. I have been eating more carbs, my weakness. I woke up today and I am going start fresh, just need the support. I have not gained weight , but I also have not lost weight in a few months. Even if I am good it seems like I am stuck. I need all the advice and support I can get.
Good morning antionetta! I hear you and am exactly where you are. But I am 3 yrs out and still have 40lbs to go to meet my goal. I have fallen back into bad habits as well. But this is a good place to come to for support and help. This has been a rough week for me since it's my first week to be BOTT. Just remember "PROTEIN FIRST"! One of the gals here told me that no matter what the craving , do protein.....eat a cheesestick instead of my beloved vanilla wafers in which I've gotten an addiction to at work! There is a thread that may help you to get back on track here. I believe that it's " Ten Commandments of Weight Loss Surgery" It is one of those thing that I want to print out and post it all over my house and carry a copy with me everywhere I go! Good luck to you! Keep coming back.Try journaling your food too!

Antoinette - first let me say WELCOME I hope you find these folks as helpful as I had. I know for a fact I would never have been able to get back/stay on track without their caring, support, understanding and acceptance - we're here for you as well. Please post often and allow us to share your journey.
I really like the 10 commandments - also at the beginning our of discussion page Cathy has posted guidelines for us. Read them and take them to heart. It's so easy to slip back into unhealthy habits almost without realizing it. We've all 'been there & done that' or we wouldn't be here.
YOU CAN DO THIS - YES YOU CAN. You've done it before so you KNOW you can do it again. Remember why it was you wanted to have WLS - remember all the wonderful WOW moments as you were losing - GO FOR THEM AGAIN!!!!!

Hello Antonietta,
You hit the nail on the head The more carbs you eat the less protein you consume. The more hungry you are and then the night eating begins. Carbs are mean little gremlins that keep you from feeling good about yourself.
Try eating more protein more often during the day and see if that helps with the night eating. When you do eat carbs make sure they are complex carbs. Stop by the Cafe and Cardio thread daily and be accountable with your eating. You will also get some great ideas of what to eat from your fellow BOTTer's..
We are glad to have you hear
Take care,
Kathy
