Anna, I've gained over 100 pounds back and just started BOTT.

I am just starting like a new post-op except for the liquid and puree parts. Protein first, vegs, fruit and carbs. Started exercising slow too.

It's so hard to get BOT but you got to do it one meal at a time. Those food demons keep calling me and I have to do everything to get them out of my mind. This time I am the one who has to do the work; the tools are there but not the amount of malabsorption I had. I am also going to see a clinical psychologist specializing in food addiction to get to the root of my senseless eating. I got an appointment for next Tuesday so I'll see how it goes. If I want to remain successful, I have to find out why I am sabotaging myself.

Good luck to you and come here daily for support. If I started to do this with my huge regain, so can you.

Hugs,
Lucy

Hi Anna.

I started working out on an elliptical trainer again. It's one of the best in terms of cardio and calories expended. I lost a lot of weight with the RNY and using the elliptical.

I have an appointment to see my RNY doc on the 18th. I am not looking forward to it, but if it works out, I just might be the same weight as I was at my last visit with him almost a year ago. I just feel so ashamed of letting myself go. I know we can do this together. There is strength in numbers and we both understand what happened.

Hugs,
Lucy

Lucy - you're so right - our problem is about .01% physical and 99.99% mental/emotional.  If we don't deal with these issues as they come up, we aren't going to reinvent the wheel - we will go back to what soothed us in the past - food.

Hi Happylapbander. I know this is the key to my continued success and getting to maintenance. People are so right when they say that losing the weight isn't hard; it is maintenance that is so difficult.

Thanks for your support and Hugs,
Lucy

Hi Anna,
I'm in the same boat as you. I had my GBP Dec 2005, started out at 280
got down to 140.... I'm 5'2" well, I'm 165 now. I "THOUGHT" I'd never be able to eat cake and ice cream again, and wish I had never started that foolishness back. Anyway, this is the best and most helpful site for us, believe me. I struggle big time and never seem to make any headway, but I'm going, too. Yes, WE CAN, ANNA! Once you start working on the emotional issues please keep us updated, I'm a seeker and need help, too.      Kathy A.
