Hi -- I was 324 had RNY in Febr. '03.  Lost to 174.  Back up to 236.  BOTT Jan. 4th this year and down to 223.  Have been at 223 for 2 weeks.  I am walking 5 days a week 30 min at 3.0 mph.  I am drinking 3-4 protein drinks a day.  Only eating veggies and protein.  Keeping track of calories at around 1200 sometimes up to 1400-1500 per day.  Why am I stuck?  It is so discouraging to continue to remain the same when doing what I think I am supposed to be doing!  I know when I cheat and lie to myself but this is not happening at this time!  Please Help me!

S.F. - have you checkout the guidelines at the beginning of our discussion page?  Sometimes, something small has slipped our mind.  Those guidelines are a good way to check on that.  Wold also suggest you go back to your surgeon & nutritionist and see what help you can get there.

Are you taking all of your vitamins and supplements?

I can appreciate how discouraged you must be.  Just remember, if you are not losing when you are compliant - you SURE won't lose if you're not.

You might want to post on our 911 thread and see if anyone there can help.

Thinking of you and wishing you well

My guess is that you need to change things a little...maybe change a couple days to weight training or another form of exercise that will be a little different and/or change some of what you are eating to vary things.  I know that this same thing is suggested with newly post ops when they hit plateaus...don't think we should be much different.  Another suggestion:  don't focus just on the pounds, but on inches.  Sometimes we lose inches while plateauing...then we see the weight loss.  I hope that helps!  :)

Hi SF,

If you can, post a couple of examples of your food log.  The answer is there....

Take care,
Kathy
