Hey BOTT's

I hope your weekend was a good one!  This new thread is a place we hope you will come when you feel you are going to go off track or want to talk about issues that are keeping you from Getting Back On Track.

If you are doing great, we hope you will read this thread everyday and if a fellow BOTT'er is in need you will jump in and take their hand and lead them to a good place

A great example is Lisa, I hope she won't mind me sharing.  She just knew it was going to be "one of those days".  She came here and admitted she was going to eat all the wrong things.  She posted on BOTT several times a day and our wonderful members jumped in and helped talk Lisa off the ledge.  She reported with great PRIDE and rightfully so, she got through the day and stayed on track.

Reach out for help, we are HERE

Take care,
Kathy

If there's anyway at all I can help any of you, please let me know.  I have found it is as important to me to help others as it is to allow others to help me.

Hey folks.

One of the hardest things for me is to avoid eating when I"m bored.  And I've been snowed in for the past 3 days, and today I"m working from home - so again, the kitchen is right down the hall - and I'll tell ya, it's hard to not go out there and just grab something to munch on.

I am not feeling too 'hot' today - and I think it's because I ate crappy yesterday - (and more crappy than I should have for the past week or so), so I'm staying away from the kitchen - unless I need more Crystal lite.

I CAN do this - I just need to remember what I need to do - and take time for me.  (And to be reminded that the chocolate just isn't worth it!)
  Day by Day.

Hi Kellie,

Take it from someone that has to go through this every winter.  Just the lack of sun shine and the colder temps makes your body want to hibernate.  It's a fact of science.  There is an old saying proper planning prevents **** poor performance.

Try to have as few bad things in the house as you can.  Try to have many good things.  I will be honest with you, I eat all day.  Every 2-3 hours, but I make sure I have tons of food to reach for.  Pre-measured almonds, granola, apples LF peanut butter and most of all protein, protein, protein.  I eat protein first and I swear I am not as hungry when I eat carbs or any other food.  I drink all my water first before I can have my tea and that helps me feel full also.  I keep hard boiled eggs, cold shrimp, canned tuna, salmon.  I also grilled several chicken breast at a time and nibble on them all week.  I love veggies and will eat them with No Fat Dill dip.

Lastly, if all else fails and that damn shortbread cookie is calling my name. I will do 30 mins of something moving wise, dance, treadmill floor stuff and if I still want it.  I eat it but half.  Most of the time after working out I don't' want it anymore.

Let us know how we can help!!!  Every time  you hear something calling your name from the kitchen let us know    We will come running

Take care,
Kathy

Kelli - I thought this would show up as a response to your "bored" comment - I'm not sure how to get responses to be where I want them - at any rate, please do enjoy yourself

Kelli - You are so right YOU CAN DO THIS - WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHR.

Kathy has given you some great ideas.  Treat yourself as you would a friend in the same situation.  You would urge them to plan & prepare   You would have NO DOUBT that they were worth whatever it took to take care of themselves.  GUES WHAT - so are you

Post often - several times a day if that will help stop those trips to the kitchen.  If it's not there you can't eat it - so I suggest you get rid of those NOISY  foods that keep calling your name.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having a "anxious" day. I've got to work tonight and the kids are out of school. I've got to take a nap here shortly and the kids have been fighting, which is not unusual. I have a 17y/o dd and a 14 y/o ds. I wanted to start my getting back on track today but I'm having problems with it. I got rid of all the snack food out of the house yesterday and so there's nothing that I can binge on today. I do have some mixed nuts in the kitchen but I'm really not in the mood for them.

So far today I've had a protein shake and some beef jerky (finished that up today). I have a feeling that this is not going to be the best day. But I'm here today and you may see me a lot till I get through it if that's ok.

Drinking my crystal lite! Gotta wait to take my nap so I'm not up too early before getting ready for work. I'm doing laundry so that helps me keep my mind off of food!

Hi Janie,

IF I MAY...no wonder  you want to eat. You have not taken in enough calories.  Go to our BOTT Cafe and Cardio and get some ideas for what the other members are eating.  Try starting the day if you like it with Oatmeal, throw some almonds in it and fresh fruit.  I sometimes put a scoop of vanilla whey protein.  Trust me this breakfast will stay with you.  Try and have lots of foods handy.  One of my favs is lean roast beef, Low Fat Lorriane cheese and a SF pickle.  I put them together and roll them up.  Great snack or lunch and keeps me satisfied.

OMG, do I remember.  Not only do kids make you want to eat they cause brain damage.  Trust me, I have memory lapses now and blame my son.  Only one thing will do.....velcro and duct tape..

If you are planning on napping don't forget the mouth LOL..just kidding.

Take care,
Kathy
