Back On Track Together
02/01/10 - BOTT Cardio and Cafe - Monday
Hey Ya'll....
Won't make any excuses for not being here - I have been in a 'funk', and didn't care about much of anything, let alone taking care of myself. And I hate when I feel that way. It is what it is, and thankfully, I think I'm getting through it. I made myself a promise that if I made it through the last two weeks, that I'd climb back on the horse again on the 1st, as well as make an appointment with someone to talk to, so I can start to find the source of my lack of motivation to do what I need to do.
I'm back to planning and writing down everything, because I know, flying by the seat of my pants, simply does NOT work for me.
B - Yogurt and Protein Cereal
S - Mini Bel Cheese
L - 4oz chicken breast and carrots.
S - Apple
D - 1c pork and green chile stew.
S - Protein Shake
Cardio - Shoveling - we got 6 inches of snow and ice here in Raleigh, and I need to be able to get out of the driveway and on my way to work.
February Target - 8 glasses of water or Crystal Lite a day, and 30 minutes of some kind of moving. (Wii, Gym, or just walking around the parking garage on my lunch hour at work).

Good Morning Kellie! You were missed and I am glad you are back.
I fight depression every day of my life and can understand the lack of motivation when I get that way. I have found that the more I want to stay away, that is when I need to be here. I feel so much support from this group, even when I just lurk. Please do not hesitate to contact me at the numbers I PM'd you at an earlier date, if you ever feel the need. Sometimes it just takes a good sounding board to get yourself back where you need to be.
We did not get any snow here, just approx. 1.5 inches of sleet and freezing rain. I was able to get out and clear our walkway on Saturday afternoon and the sun took care of the roads by yesterday afternoon.
I hijacked the little boy next door's sled yesterday and was able to slide down the hill on the ice. I was more excited to fit in a child's sled than the ride down the hill! I hadn' t been on a sled since I left home, the Poconos, more than 30 years ago.
I love your targets for February. If you do not mind, I think I will make them my targets also. I really need to work on the moving part.
My plan for today is as follows:
B: Click/chocolite/soy shake
S: 1/2 bagel thin and p-butter
L: homemade beef/vegetable soup
S: yogurt w/scoop of protein
D: not sure yet (meat w/veg)
S: Protein shake w/water
Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Monday!

Hi Kellie,
It's good to see that you are back posting. Life can really suck sometimes. I've been struggling with depression for all of my adult life and I know what you are dealing with. It's easy for everyone to say, "get with it, what's your problem." Please make that appointment to speak with someone. Keep posting, even if it's not about food.
We are here for you!

Kelli - I'm so glad you're back. The best advice I can offer you when you're depressed is that if your behavior does not make sense to your thinking self - if you want to do it DON'T (for example withdraw) and if you don't want to do it DO (for example post here) I only know 2 ways out of depression, even with medication, it is either play your way out or work your way out and either/both must be done with people. The last things we want to do when we're depressed. I think it's wise to seek out a few sessions with a professional - that's simply taking good care of yourself. I wish you well
Kellie,
That stew sounds yummy, do you have a recipe? I'm also very happy to hear you made it through the last two weeks... the alternative is not appealing to me. I'm glad to see you back again, and to see that you're taking agressive action. You are going in the right direction, keep it up!
I have been sick as a dog all weekend. You'd never know it with the amazing amount of progress on the house, though. I worked HARD through my sickness for at least 12 hours each day, painting, finising, cleaning.... and the payoff was worth it, the livingroom is completely put together (furniture and all) and the bathroom and pretty much done too. After today hopefully the bed will be in the hosue.... and we'll sleep there tonight. W E H O P E.
Cardio - house work

S - Celery
L - Chix breast and raw veg
S - Salad

36 lbs from goal!
Of course we do! It is really easy to make - even though the recipe calls for fresh ingredients, it works just as well with canned tomatoes and chiles - and we keep those things on hand - so it's easy to just thaw out the meat and get things started. Green Chile Stew Mexican Source: Fiery-Foods.com 1-1/2 lbs cube steak (Pork Tenderloin) 1 large potato, peeled and diced 2 TBSP vegetable oil (optional) 1 large onion, chopped 2 tomatoes, peeled and chopped 2 cloves garlic 3 cups water 6-8 green NM chiles, roasted, salt, pepper, Mrs. Dash to taste peeled, and chopped Brown the meat in the oil. Add the onion and garlic, and saute for a couple minutes. Combine all the ingredients in a kettle or crockpot and simmer for1 to 2 hours or until the meat is very tender. Serve with warm tortillas. Serves 6. I didn't have the tortillas - but my hubby likes to dip them in the broth and then eat them. I have not figured the nutritional data on this stuff, but it's pretty high in protein, and low in calories. I had a few of the tater chunks last night, but generally pick around them as well. Enjoy!
