Good morning,
I just joined the group. Here is a little about me. As a child I wasn't what you would call obese but I was also not a guy’s go wild for either. My parents are both obese and I have a sister that has had RYN a few months before me. I met my husband my Sr year of high school. We have been married for 15 years. I gained a little after we got married but when I had my first It stated really hitting me and I noticed that he started getting further from me. I got to the point I couldn't look in the mirror only long enough to get ready in the mornings. I was having issues with sleep my hips, knees, and back, my blood pressure was high and they were looking at meds. Between that and the words "You discus me, I can't even look at you anymore" I knew that I had to do something. Yes the words were hard to hear from someone you love but how could I hold a grudge when I too felt to same. So I researched and chose RYN.
I am almost 3 yrs ago. Things have improved for me so much my health and the self esteem. I am so afraid of going back to that and not sure if I could make it through that again. I had help and support but my husband is in the army and we have recently moved to a new area. I now have to drive further to work then where we use to live this adds an hour to an hour and a half to my day. I have no time for to make new friends so a am looking for some here. I get up around 4:45 (sometimes that snooze button finds its way to the top . I have 2 kids one being very active and keeps me on the run after work. I am here because since the move and the change in work I have not been working out. I need the support when I saw the group I was in hope that this would help me get back on track. I never reached my goal even though I would still like to do that I am happy with myself.
I started at a size 18 maybe larger but wouldn't allow myself to by anything large than that. I am a size 8- 10 now depends on the style or brand. I am in the normal range but at the top of the normal range I would like to be in the middle or lower end of normal.

Here is my Monday - Friday schedule
wake up 4:45
at work at 6:15-3:00
Home around 3:30-4
clean up start dinner.
Leave house to pick up my son 6
depending on how late they decide to keep practice I get home between 6:45- 8pm
feed my son
clean up some more get ready for morning.
Watch a little TV and in bed around 10-11 depending on everything

Well here I am in need of more time ( like that will happen) and some encouragement.
Thank you all in advance
Melody

First of all Melody, let me say a great big WELCOME   I hope you find this site as helpful as I have.  There is no doubt in my mind that I would never have been able to get back/stay on track without their caring, support, understanding and acceptance.  I call them angels in disguise as humans

Let us know how we can be of help to you.  I have found it is as important to me to help others as it is to allow them to help me.

A little of my story is that I had my lap band surgery 4+ years ago, reach goal (loss of 100 pounds) 1 yr later, 2 yrs later had gained 30-35 pounds, now have lost that and lowered my goal weight and am maintaining (something I was NEVER able to do before for even a month)

This is a place to come to vent, to share successess and struggles and to find friends - to me they have become more than friends, they are family now.

Again, I'm so glad you have chosen to join us and WELCOME

Hi Melody,

First of all Welcome      Welcome      Welcome      Welcome      Welcome      Welcome      Welcome      Welcome      Welcome

I hear in your words you are a very overwhelmed, lonely person with no support in your life right now.  YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.    That is a recipe for eating BIG TIME.  I wanted to go get a cookie my friend    But I didn't

I won't touch the husband thing....if someone loves you then they will love you fat or thin.  He needs some help.  But that can be way down on the list of "to do's" since he is not home...giggle  Why as fat people do we feel we deserve to be walked on and treated like dirt?  I did too....

Where do we begin...if you have not done so, take a look at the docs we have here.  They are great for getting back on track, lists to help get back to the basics.  When you get some quite time, sit down and write down what you are not doing and what you feel you need to do to get back on track.  Then what you feel you can do right  now.  Make it only one or two things.  For example, if I am having issues with water, protein, exercise, snacking to many carbs, not journaling, not posting here and being accountable, not attending a support group...etc.  Then I would try and get my water in the first week..  Baby steps my friend!!!  Then as I start doing that add another one and so on.

Be sure and come here every day and be accountable in the BOTT Cafe and Cardio thread.  Also, post in the BOTT 911 thread if you need help.  If  you live somewhere warm get  your exercise in by doing something with the kids out doors, biking, running, soccer..That way you get your exercise in and poops them out and they won't burn down the house.

Start writing again, keeping track of your food and how you are feeling.  I know it's hard but reach out to your fellow Mom's in the neighborhood and see if they have a Mom's group.  You can make friends and share in watching the kids.  Check too and see if there is a WLS support group in the area as well.  Call local hospitals and check with us here at OH.

Whew, well I think that is enough for now.  We don't want  your head to explode just yet

Biggest thing to remember is you are not alone and we are here for you all the way!!!!

Take care,
Kathy

Hi, Melody:

You have come to the right place!  Great support here and wonderful advice!

It sounds like you have a crazy schedule -- I don't know that there is any way to modify it, but you do have to make sure you find some time, even a few minutes a day, for yourself.  Plan your day food-wise, exercise-wise, tracking food...you get the idea.  It really does help!

Looking forward to your posts!  :)
