3 Year Surgery Anniversay!

Tomorrow on January 30th, I will celebrate my three year WLS Anniversary! I am so excited and cannot convey how happy I am. This has been a remarkable and amazing journey...and if I had to do it all over again there are some things I would change, but not many.

I am disappointed in myself that I have not reached my GOAL weight of 145lbs., but I have managed to lose 85lbs. for which I am extremely happy and grateful. I have learned a lot of things during my WL journey and I have so much more to learn. I am so thankful for the friends that I made along the way, and feel sorry for the ones whom I lost to envy and jealousy.

Now when I look at the image of the woman I see...I see a reflection of beauty and success and someone who loves me!

Happy Anniversary! WLS has truly been a gift for a second life. Please don't be disappointed in not reaching your goal. The fact that you lost 85 lbs. is fantastic! And the fact that you have maintained, is the true "goal". I, too, am grateful that I have met so many wonderful people along this journey.

Dreamgirl - You are a pecial lady. Remember Jiminy Crkicket in the movie Pinoccio - ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE---ELIMINATE THE NEGATIVE.

You have the rest of your life (and I pray it's a very long, happy and properous one!) to reach your goal weight. I don't know any of us who would not have liked to wake up the morning after WLS at goal weight LOL

You can do whatever you choose to do!!!! I believe in you - and happy anniversary!

Dreamgirl,

Please celebrate your accomplishments. When you feel that disappointment in yourself just think about where you were 3 years ago.

I will celebrate my 3 year surgiversary in March also. I have not reached my goal either. But I try very hard to focus on the 170 lbs I no longer carry around with me. That is not to say I will not keep trying. This is a way of life for me now, not a race.

I am sure that you are just as beautiful on the outside as I can see you are on the inside. We just need to continue to love ourselves as we love others as we continue our journey to healthier life.
