Hi Tamara,

First Welcome to the group    It helps to have a safe place to come and let it all hang out.  That being said here you go

View more of my photos at ObesityHelp.com

Now that is done, lets see what we can do to help.  You must feel like you are being pulled in so many directions.  Try and take a look at the docs and lists we have as sticky posts.  Make a list of the things you need to do to get on track, and then try and take it one at a time.  I know it sounds like a slow process but you want to be able to handle it and make it a life long change. With all you have going on to many changes will just set you up to feel like a failure again.

For example if on your list is water or don't drink with meals, increase my protein, take vitamins.  Take the water first and do it until you are getting in the water first and all 8 glasses.  Then check that off your list and go to the next one.

We are here to help!!!

Take care,
Kathy

Hi Tamara,

I attend OA meetings and this is what they refer to as "REVVING" .  You have too much on your plate.  You must make time to take care of yourself.  I suggest you see about making time to just be still and listen to you "inner voice", everybody needs "quiet time".

I know that when I try to take on too much that triggers bad eating for me.  I like to wake up a little before the rest of my family and while my husband and child are still sleeping I plan out my day.  Having a meal plan is a huge deal for me.  When I don't make a plan for the day, it's like I'm planning to fail for that day.  ( Don't get me wrong, there are some days that even the plan doesn't do it, but most of the time it helps tramendously).  I also constatnly seek support from this WLS community.  I try to post everyday, sometimes several times a day.  I try to log my food intake and activity and keep a journal.  There are moments, when this stuff seems like a chore, but I need to do whatever works.  -- Story of my life....

Keep in mind, we are all different.  Just take some time and try to figure out what will work for you. You CAN do it.

Hugs,
Lisa

You have a lot of great advice on here!  One thing that comes to mind, and I apologize if this has already been mentioned, is finding a good support group.  Give yourself that couple of hours a month where you can be with other WLS patients, talk about issues you are having, get support, learn new "tricks" ... friendships can be formed there, and support outside of the group can develop.  I hope that helps.  Best of luck....we're here for you!  :)

I know how this feels. I'm so ashamed of myself. Like most gastric bypass patients, I didn't deal with the compulsion to eat and since I don't get sick I can eat almost anything. Keep the faith, I'm so glad I found this WEBSITE.
