Back On Track Together
BOTT Challenge for January - Weigh In Friday
We are at the half way point. Good time to look at where you are, what you have accomplished and perhaps needing to make some changes.
I lost 1 pound and while I am happy I have lost 3 pounds this indicates to me I need to make some changes. For me, I know what kicks starts my weight loss. I am doing water, protein drinks only and kicking up my exercise for a week. If I need to eat it will be protein based, like NF cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, egg whites, chicken, cold shrimp/fish. NO carbs not even complex for now.
So my friends, how are you doing? Where are you at? Share with us what has worked for you and let us know if you need help with something. We are here for each other.....
Come on in and be accountable.
Take care,
Kathy
PS.... I was thinking this has been a great source of support and I think motivation for us all. We get a lot of hits so while others are not posting I think we are helping our community. I am thinking we should do this monthly. What do you think?

Yeah, I was afraid to weigh in today, I have been good but I also know it is unrealistic to expect to lose a certain amount of weight each week. I was aiming for 2 pounds and GUESS WHAT, ok, I gave it away, I lost 2 pounds ! ! ! I am halfway through the challenge and am halfway to hitting the goal !
I love this challenge, yes, I am a person that needs to be held accountable, if no one is looking, I don't look either. Which means I don't follow the rules, I let the water slide, protein slide, and eat to many carbs. I believe that the carbs are really my enemy! They can be evil, ok, moderation is the key, I am not good at moderation, if I was, I wouldn't have needed this wonderful surgery ! And I'm not being sarcastic about the "WONDERFUL SURGERY", it was a lifesaver for me! I am so glad that I ever heard about this surgery and wish I would have known about it many years before so I could have enjoyed my childrens younger years better, now I just enjoy the Grandkids young years. I have even gotten on their trampoline with them to jump on it but I have a little of a problem with having an "old Bladder" the muscles aren't as good as they usta be. *sigh* but hey, the kids loved that I tried.
Loving this "Heat Wave".
Stay warm and safe !
Good Morning!
I have maintained this week, for which I am grateful. I had too many munchy, grazing days this last week and feared that the 6.5 lbs I lost last week would find me this week.
I have found this thread a great source of support and motivation. Although I don't always get to post, I do go back and follow. I think having a monthly goal helps us all get to the final goal.
As a result of the last two weeks, I have become a lot more aware of what I put in my mouth and why I am putting in there to start with.
My plans for this next week are to limit my carbs to a very few complex carbs that will include high fiber and keep my protein levels high. I find I go into the weight loss mode better with higher proteins and lower carbs. I need to keep mindful of my H2O since I am increasing protein. I am going to try to stick with a clean eating plan and only munch or snack on protein sources. I have been scheduling 5 days of cardio but only getting in 3 each of the last 2 weeks, so I will continue to schedule 5 and maybe I will be able to reach that goal this week.
Thank you so very much Kathy and everyone that contributes to this Forum. Your support and encouragement have meant the world to me these last few weeks.
First of all, fabulous you kept the 6.5 lbs off. You know what they say oh first few pounds is water weight, you proved it was not and kept it off.
I found myself last night looking at a peanut butter cookie my DH brought home and you are right. I was like no way am I eating that and having to post it. So coming here helps me for sure
Take care,
kathy

I lost 2 additional lbs (7 lbs. total) which is good, but of course this has not been my focus. I've strangely NOT been tempted to comfort myself w/ totally junk food (which would be highly typical for me); in fact, my appetite has been down. I've done no exercise at all.
I have been home for a day & am getting ready to go back to my daughter & son-in-law's house (about 2 hrs. away). She is being released today, but unfortunately they will be coming home without their daughter. (BTW, Baby Calla is physically doing a little better in the NICU.)
We are all very fragile emotionally, very much struggling with what has happened & what is ahead. We have so many people praying for us, which I know is what is keeping us going for now.
I will try to be in touch and am trying to do the best I can taking care of myself (sleeping & eating) through everything.
Always,
Jo
I saw your post and that you find time to come here and share says volumes about you as a person. First of all, we are here for you all the way. You want to vent, go ahead....you want a hug we are here to give.
The fact you are not turning to food says you realize your family is going to need you to be strong and there like never before. Staying strong and healthy during this time is the best gift you can give your loved ones.
Prayers with you and yours!!!
Take care,
Kathy

It was warm enough for me to resume my pool routine. So hopefully I'll have a consistent exercise regime that I enjoy.
We should definitely do this monthly! Have a great weekend!
