Back On Track Together
Confessions of a Night Eater
Hi Everyone -
I'm new to the group, and SO GLAD you are here. I am ashamed of regaining weight after my initial success, and didn't know where to turn.
One thing I'm struggling with is night eating...I mean like waking up at night going to the kitchen and putting food in my mouth! It is such a horrible cycle - I can't stay asleep, so I "soothe" myself with food, then I of course I wake up in a few hours because I need the bathroom and...on and on.
Does anyone else do this? Has anyone broken the night eating habit? How did you do it?
Thanks a lot!
Laurel

Hi Laurel! No, you are not alone, I know of quite a few people that do get up and eat in the middle of the night. My problem is that I always want one Ritz cracker with peanut butter on it before I go to bed. I don't even think I am hungry, but just want that taste in my mouth while I am going to sleep. It has been three years since my surgery and I have started some bad habits again. I have gone back to the basics again to get back on track. Plus, there are a few of us at work that have started a contest about losing weight. Also, maybe instead of eating something when you get up in the middle of the night, you could just take a sip of a protein shake or something really healthy to keep you on track.
Best Wishes!
