Boxing?

Hi everyone! I was just wondering, do any of you box? Recently I have had the desire to box, even though I never have before. I'm developing new goals and would like to try different exercises & things. Was just wondering if any of you do & if you enjoy it?

Hi Kristy

I know it's not the same, but I have WII sport and haev done some boxing on there - I found it really good cardio exercise and my arms ached the next day.  Give it a try - is there a taster session available?  You never know, you may love it.  let us know how you get on.

I don't have a Wii, but would love one! I don't want to actually box, but take a boxing class. I haven't even seen any advertisements for kickboxing class at the local Y, I know they used to offer them. I'll have to check that out.

I LOVE BOXING    When I was going to the gym they had a class called Turbo Kick.  It had some boxing moves in it and I wanted to learn more.  I joined LA Boxing here when it opened (sadly it has since closed) and it was the most intense wonderful work out I have ever had.  I burned 800 cals on average in a class.  You don't just punch and kick the bag....you do all kinds of cardio and exercises and it's the best. 

What surprised me the most is it is great for stress.  I have a bag in my basement.  Do take some lessons and or a class to learn how to punch and kick properly as you can injury yourself if not done properly.

I can only imagine how much one can burn while boxing/kickboxing! I am going to check with the local Y to see what classes they offer. I will definitely let you know if I get into a class.
