Members Speak - What is your personal goal for 2010?

I am turning 60 in a few weeks, so I am facing a new year AND a new decade!  Although I'm tempted to be a little depressed about turning 60, I know so many people who are battling diseases--as well as friends & acquaintances who have passed away WAY too early--so I am embracing my age and being grateful for it!

For 2010, I want to get much of my re-gained weight off.  I don't think I will be able to maintain my lowest weight (which was NOT "skinny" but would be very hard for me to maintain); however, if I lost 50-60% of WHAT I RE-GAINED, I'd be satisfied & comfortable.

In 2010, I also am getting BOTT w/ my vitamins.  This past year I really got lazy with that, and the past couple mo., this completely fell by the wayside, which I thought I'd never say.  This week I have started back w/ everything.

In 2010, I am also getting BOTT w/ my exercise.  Went back to the gym this week.

Always,
Jo

I just found your group and am so excited. This is exactly what I need. I have not come online to the obesity help websitesince 2007.  I did better with a support group. I never gave up on my band. I recognized it was my food choices (sliders), drinking with eating and lack of excercise that caused some wt gain but my band prevented massive wt gain. Alot of people at the hospital where I work are getting bands. I tell them I am a success because the band works and it is there for me when I choose to get back on track.
Well, I decided- then found your group!!!!  Thank you!!!!

My goal is to follow band rules and begin a slow wt loss. I want to start excercising again to.

I actually started eating right yesterday. I guess my band decided it was time. It got tight, I ate little and had lots pbing so hey, why not now!!!

I'd like to get back on track and hopefully shed at least 20 lbs before my 2 year surgiversary.  I've been told by my NUT.  Starting next week I'm going to plan my meals and do my best to get in somewhere b/t 1200 and 1500 calories a day.

My goal is to figure out some sort of sustanable exercise routine, lose at least 20 lbs (preferably 40 to finally reach my goal), and get my reactive hypoglycemia firmly under control.

1.  Lose the remaining 40lbs I have to go.
2.  Exercise 30 to 45 minutes 5 days a week.
3.  Take my vitimins
4.  Drink my water

My personal goals for 2010 is like many of you.  Get back on a healthy meal plan, exercise, and lose the 27 lb. I gained over the last two years.
Have a blessed day!

So...

My surgeon was kind of a jerk, but also kind of prescient. He said to me - I've seen it all and you are one of the ones who is going to fail. (My surgeon isn't on the OH list, btw - so please don't think I'm dissing the one listed in my profile!.)

I did lose 125 pounds with my RNY, but then...I got lazy. I got married and inherited teenage stepkids. AKA - I came up with a lot of reasons to graze/eat the wrong thing/flake on exercising. Result? Regain.

And yep - I feel like a big failure.

So my goal for 2010 is to take care of myself again - nutrition, exercise, water, emotions - one day at a time - and realize THAT is success. I'm super-lucky in that my husband has signed on as my personal WLS chef, and we're on our way!

I'm glad y'all are here...
