Good-bye to an old friend

Good-bye old friend, buttered and heavily salted popcorn.

You have always been there for me and helped me though tough times.  I’ve learned to rely on you for any emotional need I might have no matter how small.  Because of this I am not taking care of myself properly.  I have loved our time together but alas it must end.  We will enjoy the few remaining days we have together but then our relationship must end.  No looking back.  Please do not call my name; I don’t want to hear from you.  I don’t want to see you again or have contact with you ever again. Should we run into each other in a social situation it is OK to be cordial and greet each other but that’s all it can be.  There can be no tasting for us.

You’re not good for me.  In reality you are toxic for me.  The more I have of you the more I crave you and your kind.  You are contributing to my mental and physical distress and it has to end.  I will not replace you with a substitute; it would just leave the door open to your cousins.

Good-bye.

This is great! I'm doing the same thing with the french vanilla coffee creamer. I figured out how many useless calories I was drinking, it was mind boggling.

It's good to rid ourselves of bad influences and poor choices. For now, I have chosen to limit my association. Best wishes,

Z

I LOVE this Mae - and will need to seriously consider who I'm evicting from my life as well.  Carbs are my trigger, and my soft spot - and the thing I turn to when I need a quick 'plugging of the hole' when I"m upset about something.  I know that I can't cut them out completely, but I can seriously trim back on them.  I said good bye to frenchfries last week, and while I don't MISS them, the smell of them still gives me a tummy twinge...but I am MUCH better off without them!

Thanks for this suggestion...a formal goodbye may be what I need to officially put them in my rear view mirror!

I love it!!  This is one of my downfalls (imagine this being one!)  I enjoy my coffee with non-dairy creamer and that will never go away.....ah but the rest can.  No more large portions of cream of wheat (do not need that much).  No more 2 egg omlette with the works ( only need one egg really).  Thanks for the inspiration!!!!  I needed that.
