Back On Track Together
BOTT Challenge for January
Hello everyone,
I am 5 years post-op and lost a total of 160 lb. But during the past year and a half have regained 27 lb. I feel horrible not only for the weight gain........but actually feel bad. I got back on track on Monday, purchased a book my surgeon suggested "Die Fat or Get Tough". It is a good book on changing your pattern of thinking. I think that is something I had not done. I lost the weight, did all I was suppose to do, but never changed my pattern of thinking. Exercising in my basement was not working........boring.......exercising alone. So I joined Curves. Had my first session last night and had a blast. So I am going back tonight!
5% is 10 lb. for me. I know I can do this.
1. I saw my surgeon for my pep / stern talk. He revamped the foods to only meats, veggies, cheese (real stuff), nuts, and berries.......and that's it. But I have found some recipes to help me along so the same ole stuff doesn't get boring.
2. Joined Curves
3. Joined the Botters for support and also have talked to my family about added support. They have been very supportive but asked them to step it up a notch.
4. Reading my book to change my pattern of thinking from fat to fit.
5. And loving life..................
God Bless you all and hope you all have a Happy and Safe New Years!

Welcome Janet,
First let me say kudos to you for putting the brakes on. I know this is hard to believe but I feel you have more control than you think. Yes, you put on 27 pounds but you said OK, what is going on, stopped to reflect and reached out for help. You are addressing the issues and doing something about it. That is a winner in my book.
You know the statics are against us after 5 years. Most have put back on all their weight. Girl, look at you!!!!!
We are so excited to have you with us. And thanks for sharing your game plan. It may help others as well.
Take care,
Kathy
