Hey Everyone

Most of the kids are out of school around these parts due to the blizzard.  We didn't get too much snow but the wind chills are down right BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

If you live in a warm area of the country the blue skies and sun shine can mentally inspire you to go for a walk, bike ride and just be out side and MOVE!    When you live in these parts you see the blue sky, sun shine and the snow blowing by like the frozen tundra    I find your body wants to just hibernate, cuddle up in big, warm clothes, lay around, eat comfort foods and hang out until Spring.  Well, we all know where that will lead    I do believe also that the lack of sunshine leads to a lack of energy as well.

So if you live in the frozen tundra like me, let's stand up and fight this will all our might.    Put away all those loose clothes like sweats.  Go to any store and get those thermal shirts and pants.  Those puppies are so skin tight,  you gain a pound it will show.    That way you keep warm and stay on track.  There is no incentive to drive to the gym when the roads are like ice.  This is where the DVDs, Wii and exercise shows come in handy. My fav is put some music on and dance baby dance.    Ok, ok, so they won't ask you to join the next Dancing With the Stars, but that is their lost.

Lastly, stock up on good foods, like crock pot meals we talked about yesterday.  That way if you can't get out or don't want to there are good choices.

How many more days till spring    We can do it, we can do it, we can do it

Take care,
Kathy

Everytime you type crOck pot - my eye reads crAck pot - (my profession ?????)  LOL

You just listed a bunch of reasons I moved from Indiana to Florida - haven't regretted the move for even 1/2 a heartbeat.  Unfortunately, I can overcome sunshine and still not be motivated to get out and move.  Am working on that though.  Besides - it was 47 degrees here and windy this morning when I left for work and I about froze.   I know - you'd think you were having a heat wave if it was 47 degrees!

Keep on inspiring us to keep on.

Its so very true that we don't move around as much because we can't go outside as long or as comfortably as we like. My husband "gently" (yah right) reminded me of my gym membership and I think this winter I'm going to work myself to the (skin and) bone to try to build up some good lean muscle...

I never ever ever watched the Biggest Loser. But on the Today show, the winner guy from this season was on talking about his challenge. He talked about how he expected his first gym workout to be "an hour, then rest, then another hour... but no, it was solid for like 4 hours of burn, pump, burn, push, burn... I HURT for days and days. We did it every single day".... etc etc. I want that. I want to work really hard for a really long time, day in and day out. Every day may not happen that way, but look at what it does for those people?

lol, well Happy, its a dream maybe. I simply don't have time to spend day in and day out at the gym all day. But I will make a conscious effort to work hard when I do get there. Its something!
