Thought for the Day

Came across this on another OH site and throught it well worth sharing because it's so true -

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else - you are the once getting burned.

Its so true. And while its so easy to let that anger just go away, many of us (me one of the worst of all) just grasp on to it and act stubbornly, trying to get in the last word, or find some new way to prove I really was right all along.

Life is too darned SHORT to stay angry for very long. I have to keep reminding myself of that. And that includes being angry at myself.

So often "Life" demands that we pick our priority - Is it more important to be right (which we may very well be) or to solve the problem (get rid of our misery)  I'd like to say I always choose to solve the problem - and while I could say that, it would be a down right lie!   LOL

Hmmm...this is very timely for me as I was throwing several hot coals at people yesterday - to my shame.

I don't hold on to anger, I throw it at the first opportunity I get :o(  I'm working at it, with the help of those who love me.   I end up burning myself AND those around me.  I thank them and God that they love me enough to forgive me.

The moral to this quote is to always put on heat resistant gloves before hurling angry hot coals. Wait, I may have missed the point here. It always seems that the ones closest to me are the ones that bear the brunt of my anger. I have been a LOT better handleing and dealing with anger since I had my medicine adjusted. Thank God for modern medicine.
