Back On Track Together

Tool Still Works

I'm usually lurking and not posting too much. Just wanted to say that going back to the basics has worked for me. Went to my annual check up (even though I am up 30 pounds from my lowest weight) was not yelled at. Admitted that I have fallen off track, and needed to really address what has caused me to let those unmindful behaviors back into my life. Peanut M&Ms and carbs have been my downfall and in stressful situations I tend to reach for them. I started using protein as snacks when I felt that I had to reach for something.
By going back to basics and eliminating the m&ms and carbs, I've lost 8 pounds so far!! I haven't broken my tool, it still works. Just thought I'd post that - surgery is done on our stomachs, not our brains. I need to focus on more mindful behaviours and not let myself go onto automatic pilot and reach for those things that I know I should stay away from. I'm taking this one step at a time to get back on track. Have a great day!

"Queenie"  GOOD FOR YOU - you hit the nail on the head.  Our problem is about.01% physical and 99.99% mental/emotional.

If you're comfortable, please post often as when one of us succeeds we all succeed.  We need to know we have care, support, understanding and acceptance.  You are an inspiration.

Have a fine BOTT day.

Congratulations and welcome to the wagon.  I have also jumped back on the wagon, my downfall was also carbs, I have been working at staying on track for a little over 3 weeks now and my mind and body both feel better.  I have fallen off the wagon a couple times but hey, the wheels didn't totally fall of, they just bowed a little and let me get back on !

Good luck and keep on fighting !

Thanks for sharing.
Carbs and sweets were also my downfall.  I have since realized I am a food addict and am going to FAA (Food Addicts Anonymous) and am working a no flour no sugar food plan.  I eat mostly fruits, vegetables and my protein and I get oatmeal or shredded wheat in the AM for breakfast.  Shredded Wheat does not work for me though, my pouch doesn't seem to like it.

Hope I can continue to feel comfortable posting.  I get a little insecure once in awhile thinking I am typing stupid stuff.

I'm only down about 70% EWL and it's been difficult going lately...up 2 or 3, then back down 1 for the past several months...enough to gain 3 or 4 solid pounds.  Sugar is one of my main problems and it doesn't seem to matter how much sugar free I go, if it should have sugar in it, it's just as hard on me as sugar free.

I'm trying to get back on shakes for breakfast and mostly protein or veggies for everything else.  This time of year is really bad and everything brought to work gets put on the file cabinet next to me and short of having a temper tantrum, no amount of asking has gotten it moved somewhere else.  I really think sometimes people can be so inconsiderate......

It makes it more difficult to stay away from the treats.

Keep it going, Queenie. You're doing fantastic. Its so great to hear other success stories out there in BOTT land, its very inspiring for those who are struggling with the will to keep going due to gain or stall. Thank you very much for sharing your success with us.
