Hi BOTTers,

As I try to write this to you, my mind is racing all over the place.  If I don't make sense or ramble, hopefully you'll understand.

Over a week ago, my sons received the H1N1 vaccine at school.  My oldest son had a severe reaction to it.  Shortly after receiving it, he collapsed in the school cafeteria because he was so weak that he couldn't stand up.  He couldn't stand up, his right arm and hand were also weak and his speech was slow and labored.  His blood pressure was spiking dangerously.  He was taken by ambulance to the emergency room.  I rode in the ambulance with him and it was the most petrifying experience to see him being worked on and I felt helpless to do anything.

He is making progress slow but sure.  He is in physical therapy and seeing a neurologist.  I feel cautiously optimistic.  The good thing is that when he had the reaction it was early on, we obtained immediate care and medication to reverse the side effects of the attack on his central nervous system.

I have been focused on him, coordinating his care and juggling my other responsibilities.  The world sure stopped for me when this happened.  Now that things are a little more settled I wanted to share this with you, my BOTT family.  For Thanksgiving, I felt even more grateful for all the blessings I have in my life, especially the progress and positive prognosis for my son.  Even though I hadn't shared it with all of you yet, I still felt the BOTT support.

Thanks for being here for me!

What a terrible thing for you all to be going through.  I can''t begin to imagine how it has been - a nightmare to say the least.

It is so good to hear your son is recovering - I pray for a complete recovery.

Remember to take care of yourself - so that you then can care for your son and keep yourself strong

big hugs & love

Dear Cathy,
I'm sure that has been a very scary thing for you and your son to go through. I often get a "sense" about these things, and my sense is that your son is going to be just fine. Do come against the spirit of fear that the enemy would throw on you, for it will block the blessings that the Father so wants to bring to you and your son.
The Word tells us that "believers shall lay hands on the sick and the sick shall recover," and since there is no distance in prayer, I am laying hands on your son, and in Jesus' Name, in prayer, I speak total healing into your son's body. The Word says that, as a believer, whatever I bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever I loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven, so I bind the enemy from any further intrusion in your son's body and health, and I loose health and wholeness into your son's body, that every cell, muscle, organ, all of his blood supply, every part of his body will function as it was created to function--perfectly. In Jesus' Name.
I look forward to your good report. The joy of the Lord is your strength, Cathy, and since "God inhabits the praises of His people," keep praising Him, knowing that in doing so, He's right on the scene. :)

Cathy, thank you for sharing your burdon with us. You always are and will continue to be in my prayers. I have heard from many people that the reaction to the vaccine is worse than the actual H1N1. Sorry your son is having to go through this.

Please take care of yourself during this time. As you know, we often neglect ourselves when those we love are in need. Besides prayer, if you neede ANYTHING please call me 268-0794 and I will help in anyway I can.
