Back On Track Together
Dairy of a BOTTer - Friday Reflection
Hey Everyone
I am in my second week of my effort to get Back On Track and find that I need to practice what I preach. I talk to members on a daily basis and one of the things I stress is make sure you have a good pre-op program. It's vital for success....
So why when we are trying to Get Back On Track we try to do it all in a few day. We know a lot and don't need months of training but we need to put in place one step at a time.
Here are the basics we need:
Water
Sleep
Food - eating every 3-4 hours
Exercise
Vitamins
Rules of our surgery
Journaling
Dealing with stress and emotions
Taking care of our spirit
Where I am after week 2.
**I am there with my water and remember when I do I am not as hungry. I had started drinking during meals. And damn they were right, I eat less when I wait 30 mins before.
**Still not sleeping well. I think when I get my exercise on track that will help
**Food - so so, I find when I eat my breakfast with protein I do well during the day, if not I do poorly. Working on my sugar issues with my herbal sup
**Exercise - still walking but have to kick it up BIG TIME
**Vitamins - when I organize them in a pill box I get them all in, when I don't I miss some
**Rules - taking them one at a time so my mind and body doesn't say "hell no"
**Journaling - this is a hard one for me to find time for, but need it to succeed
**Dealing with stress and emotions - still worrying about my DH, I hear him falling and crying out for me even with him not home. I know this will get better in time.
**Spirit - not there yet, but very important
So I need to keep looking forward and not give up
Have a wonderful weekend
Take care,
Kathy

I know you posted this last Friday but I wanted to respond.
You have done so much for so many people, things you will never even know about. Through your posts and your willingness to share your story you are an inspiration to me.
I can relate to most of the issues you are having dealing with the food. I do not know the stess issues you are dealing with but I will pray for you everyday that you are given comfort and strength to deal with both areas of your life and that you will come out stonger in the end.
Thank you for ALL you do for our baord and for the inspiration you are to those of us that read your post. We care about what happens to you.
Your BOTT friend,
Wayne

Wow Wayne,
What a very special message. Just reflects how special of a person you are. My husband had vertigo and he is 6" 4' and almost 300 pounds. So when he started falling it was a challenge. Needless to say he is getting better and now it's time to pay the price for making myself number 2 (and I didn't mind that at all) and get back on track.
The mind tells me what to do but my body is saying I am not going to do that
Thank you for your post as it will always be special to me and an inspiration to never give up. Together we can do anything If you ever need anything I am here for you
Have a wonderful holiday!!!!
Take care,
Kathy
