Back On Track Together
Just learning... what is 5dpt?
Hi All,
I have visted this site on/off for a couple of years and made my first post today - and I have been reading lots of great information - thank you.
Several people posted about 5dpt - is that a special diet? I know I have to do SOMETHING to turn this weight gain around and am not sure yet how to do that. Truthfully, I know writing down what you eat and how much you burn helps but it takes me forever to figure out how many calories and how much protien is in something - I know I need a simple plan or it will fail.
So, I have thought about doing a Monday-Friday week of diet similar to what I started on before the surgery to kick-start.
How do you put the charts on saying how much you have lost and where you want to be? I tried to figure that out... I have so much to learn...
Thank you!
Many will say you're better off just doing what we know to do: going back to basics--protein first, then veggies, etc. Specific meal & snack times. No crap carbs, no grazing. Getting in enough water or other clear liquids. Exercise. Vitamins.
I personally like www.thedailyplate.com for posting my food (not that I'm presently doing this, but I do like this one better than some of the other similar websites).
Can't help you on the weight chart, but hopefully someone else will post how to do a ticker!
Always,
Jo
You can also use OH's Health Tracker to log your food and activity. I was a FitDay fan for years but have switched to Health Tracker. It has an area for your food and activity. I use "activity" rather than exercise because you can enter your exercise but also the daily things you do to see more accurately how much you burn in simple daily activities. You can go to "my oh" and on the left you'll see "Health Tracker" and there you are. Check it out!! It is the best that I've seen.
I haven't done the 5DPT. I find that when I return to the basics that is what works for me.
Hang out with us and get back on track and stay on track together!!
